Post subject:  sort-of EZ money for newbies

This is for people who are just starting out, or suck at combat, yet with combat being their only way of getting money (like scouts) and are on Naboo.

look for a destroy mission that has you kill a Capper Spineflap nest. only take it, though, if the nest in the picture is the kind that looks like a poorly built brown tent. (Apparently, unlike other creatures, Capper spineflaps either can not or will not heal this kind of lair. who'd've guessed?) you must consentrate your attacks on the lair, not the creatures. once the lair is destroyed, burst run the hell out of their and get your ass back to civilization. These will get you enough credits to get started with training.

I don't know if any other creatures have a type of lair that they can't heal, but this was the only example of it that I saw....

Gnort lairs are pretty easy with a probot, and fine without. Don't the spineflaps swarm? Gnorts don't, chubas don't. IMHO take mobs that do not defend each other, I'm not sure on the spineflaps though.

In any event, here's the way to take down the nest of a critter you can usually only beat 1 on 1: Kill all the critters of that type nearby, then fire on the lair, then hit peace as soon as a new member is spawned. Keep peace as a hotkey (hit CNTRL A and drag peace from the combat list to your toolbar). Kill the new spawn. By the time you're done killing the one there will be several of that kind spawned, but since you /peace-ed the lair, they will not aggro. Now kill them one at a time. Then re-fire on the lair, hitting /peace anytime a mob spawns and aggroes. I took down Ikopi lairs with a rank newbie doing this. Takes a little while, but low risk and unlike delivers this gets you combat xp. As long as you STOP killing the lair when mobs spawn they will attack you and not repair the lair, even if it is nearly dead.

Other advice:

- refresh, refresh, refresh! Gnort missions for me taking difficulty 9 will be beween 1400 and 2500 credits reward for exactly the same mission. It is worth it to refresh over and over for two 2500 credit missions, and make sure both are in the same direction;

- I always choose two going South East and clear my mineral harvesters, then return to town and choose East to grab my Solars. If you're travelling out of town, no reason not to add 5k cash as a bonus by taking two missions that way.

- for some reason if you're in a group, even with a probot or pet, you get cash, not bank credit, just FYI;

- these newbie critters won't kill, so if you get incapped just go grab a drink, however if you get incapped 3 times in a ten minute spawn you die even if the mob doesn't choose to kill you;

- take medic newbie skill! In the early going it's great to be a medic, even if you drop the skills later. Only costs 100 and tremendously reduced the downtime for solo play. It's easy to sample the minimal resources you need for stims;

- take scout newbie skill, same deal as medic, and you need camps to call your droids if you get one (probots are still worth it even post-nerf), plus the ability to skin creatures will add extra credits over time (you'll get 3-4 per if you sell piles of 300-400);

- careful of what you have targetted when the lair dies. You can check out the world around you while killing the lair, but if you were whistling at the Fambaa's hitpoints when you finish off the lair you will automatically start to attack it if it is targetted!

- the only good way to intersperse self-heals mid combat is to manually choose the healing stim from your inventory and choose "heal self", then when you kill the mob you're on you will heal, if you click on the stim the game thinks you're healing the mob, or else you have to /peace, and that won't work cause you re-atarget the mob every time the mob hits you;

Hope this helps some.

Post subject:  Healing oneslef in mid-combat:

It is easy to heal yourself in mid-combat. Just make a macro "/healDamage self". Put the macro on a keybord shortcut, and you'll heal yourself in mid-combat.

Be warned, though, that this is rather laggy - it may take a way before the healing fires..

A solution could be to have a macro that runs several /healDamage self with pauses inbetween..

If you want to heal yourself hit "CTRL+1" this will always select you, then use the stim pack.
I believe the healing action enters the action queue with your other combat commands, so if you want immediate healing hit "CTRL+Backspace" this will clear the combat queue, then use the stim.

If you want really easy money then do artisan missions.

Before you take the missions do some surveying in a build zone.
Im taking these missions in Keren. There is an 80% Evor (link-steel alu) spot just over the river from the pa hall.
Evor is a non-ferrous metal, so I take two non-ferrous metal missions at the starport in Keren and just run to the evor spot.
All you have to do to complete this missions is to survey.

The rewards range from 600-1800 but I dont accept anything under 1k.
This way I make 10k every 30 min.

i dont actually think this is a very good way to get money as there is a very bigh chance of dying and do actually stand a chance against the spineflpas you would have to be at least level 3 and adding to that now you have to kill all the creatures or else the nest get triple defence :twisted:
