I noticed I was getting about 100 Merchant XP an hour last night. But I have been on for a few hours and noticed I now get nothing.

Do I have to have something in the Merchant to get XP from it?

also do I get more XP with more items in it?

1250. and only one vendor - a droid vendor.

I have Business IV and just waiting to get my Merchant XP be be a novice Merchant.

I seen people on the merchant forum say they go for periods when their xp doesn’t update. It may be related to semi-ghosting. You should be getting it, but the client just doesn’t know it atm.
Check later and see if you get a burst of it.

My xp seems to have gone from a steady acceptable speed.... not a hair faster than standstill.

I think something has changed…

I was almost at 10k Merchant XP before I even realized I had been gaining any.

I place mine just a couple nights ago and very, very few have used it - I'm already up to just under 5K Merchant XP.

People using it doesnt matter until the next big update. For now its just a slow trickle of xp for just having a vendor.

I get 50 exp every time someone clicks on one of my vendors. They don't have to buy anything, they just have to "use" it.

I believe you get a trickle of exp for every vendor regardless of usage, correct?

Yes you get a slow trickle. Are you sure about this 50 xp for just using it thing? I know I get 50 every so often from the "slow trickle".

One night this weekend I sat in front of my vendors with my exp window up and it was pretty much clockwork. Someone would come up to the vendor and (I assume) use it, and bam... 50 merchant exp.

Same thing happened with the next 3-4 people that came in.

UPDATE:
Well I am getting XP again. Looks like 100 points an hour. But yesterday was a wash as it did not add any for yesterday. Been watching it and it adds 50 points every 30min.

Have not tried the usage yet but I will tonight.

Regarding vendor usage exp... I believe you only get it if the customer is unique within a specific timeframe. I'm not sure what that timeframe is, however.

I got my first 3k merchant xp by leaving my vendor in my pocket. Which shouldnt be allowed.

Keep your structure as private, but at the structure terminal go under structure permissions-->entry list. Add the names of those you'd like to allow to enter.
