Q said today that we'll be able to build many types of Episode I and Episode II combat droids and named 2 or 3 specific models. He mentioned that expanding our building abilities is their second priority after they fix all of the pending module and other issues.

Transcript to be put on unknownplayer.com

Droidekas, baby!!!

So you mean that there will be better models of attack droids.

Sounds great. :D

Fantastic!

Will it be Droidekas and those other Battle Droids from the Trade Federation?

There are droidekas on Lok. I haven't seen them since beta but they sucked then... You would shoot them and they would run away... not roll... run away like a little girl. It didn't have lasers either, it has that odd ranged melee thing that probots got lol.

So far, the only Destroyer Droids I've seen were on Rori.. I think. And those were broken down.

The ones on Lok roll and make some cool noises,

I've not fired a shot near em, as they look mighty tough ....

I wonder if they will require some new advanced level of droid engineering... if not, then I am really looking forward to that change! But I bet they will require rare resources to make. Right now, probots use commonly found resources, as it is. A more advanced battle droid should be tougher to make somehow, and that's the opinion of a Master Droid Engineer.

I think it would be neat if the Battle Droids could be given a hand weapon same as a character. In the films they were simply beefed up protocol droids with the movement necessary to carry a gun.

The guns were not attached to their hands, but carried, so it wouldn't seem like something that had to be crafted via a module but a gun that you hand it or that it picks up itself.

I would also like to see a skill allow for more Droid Pets to be in play at a given time, but perhaps require a maintanence and power fee to use them. Something to keep it from becoming the new CH, but to still allow you to have a small "squad" if you so desire.

just my thoughts anyway

Ive been slain by a droideka on Lok. it rolled up to me during a sandstorm while my friend and I had made camp. We fired on it, it killed us with lasers. he had a human buddy with him too I think but don't remember the faction.

It was a cool but humiliating moment.

I think they changed animations for droids in the big patch. Probots also have lasers now.

I think we'd better call him Dr. Evil Droid Engineer. He didn't go to four years of evil medical school for nothing.

If we're going to have battle droids we gona need to give th individual "brains" (own CPU with AI)
Pretty much like a protocoldroid.
The one in the films were like a float of bee's with one mind since thier data is transmitted by the Trade Federation ships.

I wondered about that. We also haven't seen Restraining Bolts. I'd like to see you need to pet and play with your droid or it tries to run away.

Realism!
