No fair... I can not see Sluggy in the day time, let alone at night.

Imps requisition new night vision equipment.

On the patch note a while ago it said there were AT-ATs on battlefields.
Has anyone, seen one? Do they actually fight?

When I tried one, The turrents were shooting at Rho, and Rho was shooting at me. I did not see any AT-STs at that time.

I was thinking of having an Avian PvP thing for those that wanted to do it. Maybe the Battlefield south of Lake Retreat.

Would Sunday at 6pm CDT be good for people. Say meet up at Lake retreat and head down to the battlefield together? Or is that to late for some of the people across the pond?

I think you add 6 hours to central, or is it 5? Being in daylight savings confuses me.

In my profile I have it set for GMT -5 hours.

Daylight Savings messes everyone up but we don't need a converter if we do some simple math. We are on Daylight Savings Time now but that will change next month. For now. EDT is GMT - 4. CDT is GMT - 5, MDT is GMT - 6 PDT is GMT - 7. When we switch to Standard time (no daylight savings next month on 26 OCT) EST = GMT -5, CST = GMT -6, MST = GMT - 7 and PST = GMT -8

DT being Daylight Time and ST being Standard Time

I will conform to the whatever the group decides on this but will continue to specify my times until then. We should at least consider Greenwich Mean Time because it never changes.

I will be present and killing Imps on Sunday :)

Using the SOE conversion tool is about as easy as it comes. I'm all for scheduling things at PT and just converting.

Either way a standard needs to be set so eventually we can glance at a time and know when it means.

My cousin here in Baton Rouge was accidentally electrocuted at work and will have to have his leg amputated Friday.

Thursday evening my parents will be arriving at my house to be here for my aunt and uncle and cousin. I am not sure how long they will be staying here, but it could end up being the whole weekend.

IF they are still here Sunday, I may have trouble making it to this event.

Sad to hear about your cousin, Cyrus! :(

I was electrocuted myself three weeks ago - there had been a water leakage in the apartment I'm renting, and current flowed from the wires in the apartment below and up to the sink in my bathroom floor..
I was taking a shower a quiet sunday evening, and got zapped when my leg touched the water pipes. And again when trying to turn off the shower tap. I got a minor nosebleed, but nothing more.
Measured 64 Volts between the drain and the water pipes..

Oh well - it's safe now, anyway.

I'll see if I can make it on sunday. Eat blaster bolts, you oppressors!!

Time business:
I'll write a small client-side javascript thingy that converts different time zones. When I post the script, could someone put it somewhere on the site? :)

Regards,
Iobike

Well I can't believe I will be missing this but I agreed to go with a friend to the Redskins game this week thinking it was a 1pm start but it is 415. I won't be home till probably 9pm EDT. I will try to log off at the battlefield so I can log on there when I get home. I will try to catch the tail end of this but I imagine I will miss it.

I've been looking forward to this more than anything else the PA has done together yet. I hope this happens again soon at the same time and night. I will try very hard to be there.

I'll be missing it too. I have to head out of town in the morning, which I just learned a few hours ago, and I have no idea when I'll be back but I should be back within 2-3 days if not sooner. Have fun all!

ugh! When I get back from the football game may be a moot point since my internet at home has been down to for three days "due to the storm". Adelphia just loves a ready made excuse, God knows I've heard enough of them over the three years I've had "high speed" internet access through them.

I've had the misfortune of living in areas where I:

a. Had Adelphia as the sole cable supplier.
b. Had no option for DSL.

Adelphia Fu**ing sucks!

We crashed the server Woo Hoo!

It can be fun if people don't have to stand outside waiting most of the time. Perhaps less DBs by players? Let the teams regroup and heal after incaps.
/em mumbles about being incap'd by a stormtrooper solo and being DB'd by Cheetah running by :P

It's odd, cause I had Pi'rho logged in at the same time and he stayed in.

Good to know that we at least crashed that region. :D

It was a fun time, albeit short. The "objectives" seem kinda frivolous though. They should make battles where each side literally gets 50 NPCs or something. Make it less of a skirmish and more of a real battle.

I had a good time while it lasted and my internet stayed up. Was hoping to rejoin ya but I see Lenny crashed the server...

Da well, we'll have to do it again someday.

Yeah, good time. Pics will be up soon...

Suggestion for next time:
- Let's decide on whether to use Pets or Not
- If you do use them, don't call them until you're already on a side
- Everyone use your /g channel to chat to your group -- easier then switching to the Battlefield.Rebel channel
- Everyone first group up before attacking the other base -- form a game plan, then announce to the other side that we're starting
- Communicate what's going on to your teammates!
- Don't deathblow. Agreee that if you are knocked out, you have to run back to your base and wait for 1 minute

Strategy:
- Everyone attack the same turret
- Take out all turrets before coming near the base
- Have a medic standing back to heal
- Pets can't attack the base pieces. You have to do so.

If people are knocked out of the game, start up some gambling on the sidelines!

I think if no DB (which I agree with) I don't see the need for pets than. Maybe if we get tired of the battle we can reinstate the DB to get an overall winner.

No DBs sounds good to me. 3 incaps and you're out anyways. We should at least try a battle without pets (which makes CH skills a waste, but my archy or chef skills aren't helping me out either...).

If we get real good at it and want something new, maybe we can give ourselves some of our own battlefield rules or objectives. As an example, maybe the Rebs will be the "attackers" and Imps "defenders," with the Imp base being the attacked and defended place. We can put a few more on the attackers side to account for turrets and such, and have a whole assault feel to the battle. I dunno, just something to throw out there.

I had fun, even if ti was a little confusing.

-First battle:
I'm not seeing anyone in red. But everybody is firing around. I leave the BF and re-enter, to discover this time I can start shooting on people. Then Cheetah, the imp infiltrator who is in my group starts to bleed me, yuck. Typical imp tactics. Killed me three guys and got hit by that #¤#*$ turret.

-Second battle was much more short, as my bright team was supposed to /assist me and didn't, but I suppose it was because I charged a little too eagerly...into turret fire. Second battle duration for me: 10 seconds lol.

All in all, it was fun, and with some tactics and knowledge of the terrain, we should do more interesting battles next time.

The battlefields don't generate a winner unless you DB people out of them. I suggest that people who are DB'ed and have to wait, practice by dueling outside, maybe even have a challenge tree. Hehe if you got DB'ed you must need the practice. Rules to disallow pets are kind of unfair to CH's, they sacrifice many points that could be put to weapons skills. Of course I am fighting a bunch of crafters who use up skills as well so I would put mine away if necessary. :)
