What do you know about teamspeak? I have run into several SWG players that use it lately, and I wanted to see what the Avians had to say aboout it.

I used Roger Wilco thing for Counterstrike for a little bit, I had trouble setting TS up. I have heard it's a bit better than RW in terms of noise. I think it would be cool if we could speak in a guild channel, especually with the guild chat not working well recently. Hopefully it wouldn't completely stop the game, since SWG does require a lot of computer resources.

Now all we need is someone with a static IP available to set up the Team Speak server :?

A friend and myself used Roger Wilco a while back during my DAoC days. We spent the whole night leveling up (we were noobs, like lvl 20ish) and didnt have to type a thing it was very nice.

I would recommend it but in a large group it might get a little confusing, but it depends on what yall are doing, if it requires alot of co-op then it will be very useful.

Go for it. :)

It might be worth it just to hear accents from Sluggy, Flyoc, Edward, and especially Obbo.

All the PAs that belong to the ImpCity in the SW are using teamspeak to hunt and fight together. They told me to DL it and they would hook me up on their server so I could better talk to their leaders. (I think they were trying to recruit me)
I am skittish about contacting them now that I have the software.

I have never participated in anything like teamspeak, so I wanted to solicit your feedback.

I am not very sure it fits well into the every day lives of crafters. I think it blends well into the life or and Imp, and I guess Rebel too. Maybe it would be good for Avian hunts. What do you think?

Would Avians like to give teamspeak server a test run? Does anyone have the capabilities to pull it off?

I can tell you that talking to the person you are hunting with is awesome. My friend and I used to have hands free phones and it was a local call. There is a lot of coordination that is a bitch to type out and is easy to say.

I would be interested for sure. I'm not sure if my system is up to it. I only have 512 ram and a 1.6 processor.

If you try it, get a headset/mic combo. Desktop mics are terrible. I'm gonna download the program and give it a try. However, I need to get a new headset. Count me in. I'll let you guys know when I get a new headset.

Your computer is largely stronger enough to run a TS server, but the actual question is : what is your band width (in UL & DL) ?

I think it'd be good to try. I mean, resource shifts can be more intense and require more coordination than group hunts. It's not easy deploying hundreds of harvs.

My friend and I used to do the same thing with CS.

I have a cable modem which is supposed to be 2.0 mega bits per second.

If i's 2Mb/s in both UL & DL, it largely enough to host a server.
