Even though it was all on Sunday... There I was, minding my own business on Sunday morning/afternoon. After doing some of my normal routine on SWG, I go to seperate my laundry and take a shower. Not more than 15 seconds before I was going to put some laundry in the washer, I hear water trickling, pouring, and whatnot. That's right, there's water coming through my ceiling. I live in an apartment building on the first floor, and this now makes the third time that water has ransacked my apartment (first the washer leaking upstairs, then the water heater, and ultimately today the washer again). The first two times weren't super bad. Some wet carpet in the living room, hallway, and a wet bathroom, kitchen, and utility closet. Well today was the works. All in all it came down in every room in the apartment (including both bedrooms), and came down directly on my bed (which I moved fairly quickly and replaced it with a trash can).

What's the point of my story? Well, besides today absolutely sucking major a**, water came down on one of my monitors and proceeded to fry it. The smell of smoke tipped me off. So for quite a while it's not likely to see both Marrok and Teal'k/Shikha/Pi'Rho on at the same time. My main machine is okay, as that's what I'm typing on. I haven't tested my other machine because I'm just taking things slow atm. Thanks for your time, and if Avian wants to band together and buy me a replacement monitor, I will humbly have to accept.

PS- I hear flat panels are nice.

Ouch, talk about suck.

Make the people upstairs and/or your landlord pay for it.

Yeah, I'm actually going to talk to them tomorrow to see if I can move to another apartment. I actually really like the new leasing company in charge of things. It's my old landlord who let everything turn to crap (and then he went bankrupt).

Sadly, I'm pretty sure I don't have renter's insurance, so I doubt the landlord or the upstairs people will do anything about it, even if I ask nicely or give them 1 million SWG credits.

Actually, I wouldn't worry about the renter's insurance - that's for cases of theft, fire...stuff you nor your landlord are at fault for. This is pretty clearly the fault of the building/lease company. I'd say you have a pretty good case...if you have the stomach for that kind of thing. ;)
