After doing some testing last night, Bank Tip is definately broken!

Bank tips DO NOT seem to work across server boundaries. You get a message indicating that the tip worked, when it really didn't. Money dissapears from sender's account and doesn't appear even after relogs.

Server boundaries are 1K around every Dev City, and between major areas in the wilderness (you can do /who to see what server people are on -- e.g. Theed, Laori Swamp, Yaksville, etc).

So, before you ever bank tip, make sure you send a 1 credit tip and they get it first!!

A CSR will help you only once with this issue. After that they tell you to not accept any tip over 5k. (my argument is how do I not accept a tip)

After they help you the first time, they will not be able to help you again. They say the first time they give you the benefit of the doubt... the second time SOE can not help you.

Did a tip transferring 50k to Teal'k. It definitely didn't go through. I'm more comfortable doing transactions and transfers through my vendor now than I am with bank tips.

And that's a dang shame, considering the history of vendors. :P

They used to work for me without exception(even across borders), until yak had me test tipping with him.

I think he's the real agent smith (a virus in our matrix) :P

i never used the /tip bank method. i never trusted it. i could imagine my whole bank account going to whoever i was trying to pay due to some screw up with the system. i just made the old fashion trip to the atm and paid my debts with cash withdrawn. today there is a patch released that is fixing bugs to the /tip system. lets hope the patch addressed the /tip bank bugs as well.

A while back I had a post quoting my CSR. He was saying then that they knew there was a problem with bank tipping.... and he was getting on to me for letting some one tip me again after he told me months before not to accept any bank tips over 5k.

SOE knows it is broken. They just do not know why it is borken some time but not other times.

That was the reason I stoped playing for a month.

I definately remember that period Cyrus, and didn't trust bank tips for a while after it.

Like a buffoon, I assumed that they had fixed things.

Now that you've leant me your lovely wife('s account), I've had occassion to test it out. And just wanted to let everyone know that it is still broken.

After posting a detailed explanation of my tests to the CSR's, they said they'd reimburse me. Remembering your lessons learned, I told them no, that I'd like to save my one "CSR intervention" for when someone accidently tips me 5 Million...
