General Character Information
What games do you currently enjoy playing the most?
    • MMORPGs. Though currently non hold my interest as much as World of Warcraft.
What style of gameplay do generally prefer? PvP, PvE, Crafting, etc...?
    • I can not vote for any in particular, as it really depends what works. I mostly take on the role of overt support, be it the tank or the "creature handler".
What game genres do you find most enjoyable?
    • RPGs, Adventure games, MMORPGs - anything that falls under the category of "has depth, good story, plot, characters, etc".
What unreleased games are you currently following the progress of?
    • World of Warcraft, as I'm a beta tester at the moment.
    • Middle-Earth Online - I run one of the top fansites for it: Middle Earth Warcry
What unreleased games do you plan on playing in the future?
    • See above. Oh, and never ever ask me anything about MEO beta. You will be shot. Twice.
In the games that you currently play, what names do your characters go by?
    • Jaero, Orbital, Neverdorn, Aurian... whatever tickles my pickle. Since the only game I play at the moment is WoW, and it's still beta, I haven't entirely decided on the name(s) of my characters.
Player Associations
Have you previously been a part of any other Player Associations for any specific games or for gaming in general? Which ones were they, and why did you leave?
    • Nope, not once. But I am a very accomplished liar! As such, I was also the former Chairman of the Board of Directors here, the creator of that abomination, the "Sentinels of Avian", and the former head of the Dept. of Resources... also an abomination - as to which is a lie, the fact that I'm a liar or the boasts in my signature, I leave that to you decide. Why? I'm lazy.
With the exception of the ones you have joined (if any) what other Player Associations did you consider?
    • ...There were other Player Associations? Good one.
Avian
Have you read and do you understand the text of the official Avian Charter?
    • So long as it hasn't been changed since I was a member, yes. ;)
Is there anything you would change or amend to the Charter?
    • I would like to sign into law that any mention of the word "sock" in a phrase adjacent or near the word "puppet" is illegal, and punishable by having the perpetrator's avatar be permanently changed to my original avatar, that which caused so much dissent among Avian. Other than that, I think it's quite pretty.
Are you aware that a lot of Avian’s organization is conducted on the forum as opposed to in games themselves? How often do you see yourself regularly checking the forums if you are accepted into Avian
    • Given that I'm a pathetic old sop who quit Avian and never really left, I doubt you'd have to worry about that.
Please take a moment to tell us how you found Avian.
    • When I was born, my parents laid a curse upon me (they were probably high), and thus damned me into crossing paths with a group founded upon booze, and which bore a truely cheesy name. Much to their dismay, it was this group.
Please explain why you have chosen Avian and why Avian should choose you. What do you expect to get from your membership in Avian and what do you expect to offer?
    • To be mildly serious, I do not intend at all to partake in the leadership of Avian as I once did. I will demand instead 15% of all taxes paid by members which instead of going to the PA as a whole, will go to me. As a former leader, I will remain a consultant for topics of world domination and the like.
What are your short and long-term goals as a member of Avian?
    • Booze and chicks. Oh wait, what was the question?... Ah, goals. I don't really like goals. I know a kid who played with a soccer goal one time, and it flipped over on him and left him paralyzed. I didn't really know him so much as I read about it in the paper. But still, goals... not for me.

NO WAY! Just a few hours ago I was thinking as I read one of your guest posts, "Why doesn't he just reapply already, he knows he loves us."

Welcome back... if you get accepted.

Entertaining app BTW, except for the fact that the people deciding on your application are quite a humorless bunch, I would say you're in.

Sir, I'm going to have to ask you to leave.

Actually you haven't read the new charter. It states that the official use of the term "sock puppet" connotates "one who is extremely sarcastic and often belligerent (or see former member Orbital)."

(Good luck J)

In that case, I would like to make another amendment to the charter. Instead of using the word "belligerent", I would have it changed to one of the following:
  • Bewitching
  • Brusque
  • Begrudging
  • Baleful
  • Bellicose
  • Benevolent
  • Bacon

Hush, you. I'm hungry.

I guess you did step up (finally).

Does this mean I will drop a spot in the all-time post count? Perhaps I can get a week or two to build a buffer. :P G/l

Cy, I can't see the edit button either. What's the read/write access in this forum?

lol I am playing with you guys with my trixy Admin skills.

Unlike most of the forums you guys post on, Edit is mod only ability in this app forum. I guess it is to keep applicants from changing their text after half of Avian gets offended, and the other half wants to see what all the fuss is about… but cant cause the text was edited.

When Rho said he would pay gold if someone could point out the edit button, I laughed because I could see the button plain as day right next to his text... But I knew that was an admin luxury in this particular forum.

Well, last night at about 10pm, sleep deprived and raw from playing WoW, I rubbed my eyes and went do answer nature's call. At that very moment, my cat coughed up a hairball. But it was really a cumpled up piece of paper with those questions on it.

Guess I have to keep Ravage away from my cat.

One question for you Orbi,

Is it true that one of the Character Classes they are testing in MEO BETA is the deadly Sock Puppet?

I think the BoD's decision will be clearer, and our minds set at ease once we know the answer to that question.

Thanks.

Well, MEO's Class system is not 'traditional' in terms of other MMOs. Turbine is putting the 'RPG' back in MMORPG. Every decision you make has an impact in the game. You can pick the class you want to start out as - for example if you're an elf, you can become a Scout. As you progress through the game and through the class, you will come to a point where you can begin to make your way to one of the Elder classes of Scout - and there are two to choose from. There is a Virtuous and Corrupt choice in every class, thus from Scout you can become an Archer or Avenger. Those aren't choices you make by hitting Yes or No in a dialogue box - but over time, by the choices you make and the actions you take.

Given that, the "Sock Puppet" would be the more Virtuous elder class, and "Chairman of the BoD" would be the Corrupt. I can't explain any more however, since because you said "MEO Beta" you must be shot twice forthwith.

Sorry, man. I always liked you.
