Hi folks, Shawn here posting my WoW app.
as far as gaming experience, I played a lot of EQ untill I recently burned out. I played an enchanter to lvl 65 as well as several other classes into the 60, particiapated in a guild that has since accomplised many serverwide firsts.
I work a rotating shift shcedule and have a wife and active social life so my playtimes are not hardcore but I do plan on playing WoW 20 + hrs a week.
I like PvP and PvE equally, although I do generally prefer the people I meet on PvE servers. I love tradeskilling aspects of games and plan on persuing every trade in WoW as far as I can with a variety of characters. I do not roleplay though. WoW is the only MMORPG that I am currently playing and although I do plan on checking out EQ 2 eventually it won't be anytime soon.
I read the Avian charter and found it a bit lengthy. my personal play style is just get in game and play to have fun, making detailed rules and policies kind of pointless. I do however understand the need for some rules and guidelines when trying to organize any group of people and have no problems following them.
I found Avian through a friend I work with, Tobias Smith and since all of my EQ friends have scattered to different servers I decided to follow Toby and a few other friends from work and try my luck here. I don't know much about Avian other than what he has told me and what I have read as I never played SWG but it seems like a great place for me to start my WoW career =D

What games do you currently enjoy playing the most?
MMORPGs and strategy. I have an obscene fascination for the Civilization series. I also play a little low-stakes on-line texas hold 'em. does surfing the net for porn while dodging pop-ups count as a game?

What style of gameplay do generally prefer? PvP, PvE, Crafting, etc...?
I generally prefer PvE, heavy focus on tradeskilling, questing and raiding. I like the idea of PvP but my past experience has been that I do not typicly like the types of players on PvP server

What game genres do you find most enjoyable?
fantasy and sci-fi

What unreleased games are you currently following the progress of?
none

What unreleased games do you plan on playing in the future?
non as of now

In the games that you currently play, what names do your characters go by?
my main is always Zexlos, alts are always Zexsomethingorother

Have you previously been a part of any other Player Associations for any specific games or for gaming in general? Which ones were they, and why did you leave?
if by 'player associations' you mean guilds I was in a few different guilds when I played EQ. I started out in a "family" guild, Knights of the Mystic Dragon on the Vazaelle server. I wanted to see higher end content so I joined Triality (I also heard they had a lot of hot chicks guilded) and stayed with them until I got tired of EQ and eventually quit. I have left on good terms with every guild I have associated myself with and still actively post on a few of their messageboards to stay in contact with frinds who are still members.

With the exception of the ones you have joined (if any) what other Player Associations did you consider?
I am not considering any other guilds at this time

Have you read and do you understand the text of the official Avian Charter?
sure

Is there anything you would change or amend to the Charter?
my personal perspective on MMORPGs is to focus on playing and less on policy. if I revised the charter this would be reflected in my version. everyone would also have to post a RL pic. I am terrified of accidently hitting on a mangina.

Are you aware that a lot of Avian’s organization is conducted on the forum as opposed to in games themselves? How often do you see yourself regularly checking the forums if you are accepted into Avian
I have a ton of free time while I'm supposed to be working to check the forums daily.

Please take a moment to tell us how you found Avian.
I work with Tobias Smith and he told me you guys were the greatest. he talks about Avian all the time. he's a total fan-boy so I thought I'd check it out.

Please explain why you have chosen Avian and why Avian should choose you. What do you expect to get from your membership in Avian and what do you expect to offer?
I can play 20+ hours a week and plan on exploring every aspect of the game I can. I love seeing and trying new things in game and having fun with other folks who like to do the same. I would love to find a home in WoW with likeminded individuals, people I can log in with, knock out some exp / quests / tradeskills with and have a fun time doing so.
