General Character Information

What games do you currently enjoy playing the most?

 No online games at the moment, but I'll probably start playing WoW soon.

What style of gameplay do generally prefer? PvP, PvE, Crafting, etc...?

 Pvp and PvE.

What game genres do you find most enjoyable?

 RPG, strategy some shoot em up.

What unreleased games are you currently following the progress of?

 None atm.

What unreleased games do you plan on playing in the future?

 None that I know of yet.

In the games that you currently play, what names do your characters go by?

NA

Player Associations

Have you previously been a part of any other Player Associations for any specific games or for gaming in general? Which ones were they, and why did you leave?

I have not been a member of any Player Association.

With the exception of the ones you have joined (if any) what other Player Associations did you consider?

Same as before, I haven't considered joining any other PA's.

Avian

Have you read and do you understand the text of the official Avian Charter?

Yes.

Is there anything you would change or amend to the Charter?

No, I can't think of anything I'd like to see changed.

Are you aware that a lot of Avian’s organization is conducted on the forum as opposed to in games themselves? How often do you see yourself regularly checking the forums if you are accepted into Avian

Probably at least once a day.

Please take a moment to tell us how you found Avian.

A real life friend of mine, Kharlaq, is a member and recommended that I apply, he told me you are a great group of people and a very good guild.

Please explain why you have chosen Avian and why Avian should choose you. What do you expect to get from your membership in Avian and what do you expect to offer?

I chose Avian after hearing about it from Kharlaq and after reading a lot of threads in the public forums I think I'll fit in with the rest of the membership. I'm looking for a group of friendly people to play and have fun with and also help me get started in my dawn of online gaming. I can offer to help out fellow guildmates to the best of my ability, when I start playing an online game.

Yay, finally I managed to corrupt another mind into joining the world of MMORPG's.

We do need more norwegians don't we? Can't ever have enough of those?

Seriously though, if Dozer's not accepted he's gonna beat me up and he's bigger than me  *trembles*

I think it is great that we are getting more RL friends into Avian. I am working on my own Louisiana clan, me, my wife, and hopefully soon my brother.

Good luck Dozer, a friend of Kharlaq is a friend of mine!

Dozer, forgive me if you've answered this question already, but what is currently keeping you from playing one or more of the games that we currently support?

Also, what stand-alone games do you currently play?

the stand alone games i curently are playing are half life 2, kult heretic kingdoms, evil genius, and i see my self going back to one of my favorit games gothic 1 and 2 from time to time! one of the reasons i don't play any of the games you are supporting at the moment is because i want to play WoW on the american server where you all are and the game is not for sale in Norway yet! :( . also i've got the innterest for online games just now after trying wow at kharlaq's place.

Another Gothic fan at last! Yay for Gothic!

Do it like Kharlaq and get yours shipped. If you wait for the European release, you'll have to wait for the character transfet system that Blizzard promised as well, because you won't be able to play with a Euro release key on American servers. At least until they make it possible "after release".

Edward
always happy to see more Europeans

I love evil genius. Tons of fun.

Also, is this your doing, or Kharlaqs? http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=s ... en_rats_dc

hehe..

Evil Genius is great. I'm putting that one on my Xmas list. I played the demo and loved it.

What's Gothic about? Never played that one.

you play a guy in a huge world trying to don't get killed!
lots of options and path to chose! main you can choose to evolve to a mage ,rogue, or warior in the 1st game and palladin ,dragon slayer or priest in the second! a lot of pve and the same layout as WoW in gaming! should try it! i loved it! :)

It's a single player RPG with a living world, a lot of freedom for the player, some meaningful character development choices, a tight story and tons and tons of atmosphere. Plus good replayability as the different classes you can choose give a different playing experience.

Sometimes it's a bit hard as you can easily wander into areas that are too hard for you and often running away really fast is the best choice you can make in an encounter with a previously unknown creature.

It's really a great hit here in Europe and something of a sleeper success in the US. Currently the development team is working on part three (I fear the add-on to Gothic 2 never really made it to the US).

Just try it, there is a demo out there.

Edward
should shut up now and let someone else praise the Gothic, it looks bad to toot your own horn too much

Yes, I was part of the team that made Gothic 1. I did some AI scripting, a bit of world design, story scripting, a lot of dialogue, a bunch of odd jobs.

Dozer, I am not sure if there really is an english version of the add-on. I only have played the German version. I think I read some modders created a translation patch that gives you English subtitles, but I didn't look really hard :)
No release date for part three, I fear. Only recently has the team admitted that they are working on another part, and have thrown out a short movie clip.

That garble was of course meant to be an URL:
short movie clip

Maybe we can move this into the general forum. At least there we have an edit button :)
