General Character Information

What games do you currently enjoy playing the most? World of Warcraft

What style of gameplay do generally prefer? PvP, PvE, Crafting, etc...? It doesn't really matter, I've done pretty much everything.

What game genres do you find most enjoyable? Shooters, RTS, strategy, RPG and more

What unreleased games are you currently following the progress of? Empire at War

What unreleased games do you plan on playing in the future? Empire at War, Battlefront II

In the games that you currently play, what names do your characters go by? I usually use Alrynth or Alrynth Amakiir for my main characters, alt's are whatever I come up with.

Player Associations

Have you previously been a part of any other Player Associations for any specific games or for gaming in general? Which ones were they, and why did you leave? For the games Delta Force:Landwarrior and Battlefield Vietnam I am a Commanding Officer for Panswer Elite or PE. For World of Warcraft, I am a Knight/Officer in the guild Unquenchable Flame.

With the exception of the ones you have joined (if any) what other Player Associations did you consider? None really.

Avian

Have you read and do you understand the text of the official Avian Charter? Yes

Is there anything you would change or amend to the Charter? Not at this time, but the future is always in motion.

Are you aware that a lot of Avian’s organization is conducted on the forum as opposed to in games themselves? How often do you see yourself regularly checking the forums if you are accepted into Avian. I plan to check daily, or if I'm watching a specific topic, it can be a few times a day.

Please take a moment to tell us how you found Avian. I heard of Avian through Excal or Aimee....when he first told me about SWG.

Please explain why you have chosen Avian and why Avian should choose you. What do you expect to get from your membership in Avian and what do you expect to offer? I like the name and how well rounded the group seems to be. I expect to get friends and people to talk to in SWG and if I need to ask questions...someone to answer. I can offer many many years of gaming experience and well...not sure what to say. I'm a solid person.

Ok, here is what will happen.
Someone in the Board of Directors will soon read your application, you will get a notice of that in this thread when that happens. Your application period will then start. You will then be encouraged to be active on the boards so the Directors and the other members get to know you. It doesn't hurt to hang out with some of us in-game either.

After the Board of Directors has gathered enough information about you, either from your postings on the board (including the application), or in-game information, they will vote for your membership. If you get a majority of YES votes, you will be accepted, and put into a section.

Being active on the boards and being in touch in-game tend to speed up application times. In general, the better we know you, the faster your application gets processed.

Hope that helps.

Good luck!

Okay cool. gotcha. And to the three who said welcome. Gonna reply all at once...

THANK YE!

Oh and as for posting. I am usually a quiet person unless I see something I can add to so I hope that doesnt go against me in this. For ya'll to get a little more info on me

Star Wars knowledge:
I've read almost all books, many of the technical ones as well, know the info on too many ships to list. And generally prefer a good lightsaber and a blaster at my side. :D

World of Warcraft:
I've only paid attention to this stuff since the end of March. I am now a level 60 Retribution Specced Paladin...and a Molten Core/Onyxia runner. Such fun those two things are...death and mayhem...gotta love it.

I do also play, Battlefield Vietnam, 1942, Homeworld 2 ( Warlord Mods " Gotta love Star Wars!! " ) , Rome: Total War, and many more. I play what I like, and depending on my mood.

If you guys have any questions....ask. Any comments...say'em. Jokes...expect me to stare like a good blonde half the time.

Welcome, Alrynth!

If you're not already a member of the guild in-game, do a "/who avian" and let someone know you need an invite.

Arf...that's right - can't modify in this forum!

Just to clarify, my comment above is in reference to World of Warcraft. You'll be assigned the rank of "Recruit" until accepted here and assigned a section number. Best of luck!

I have been talking to...Sel, not sure who exactly that is on the forums though, in SWG. And if he reads this or anyone else who is in SWG a lot....here's something. Lemme know ya'll are in game and willing to show a noob the tricks of the trade. I dont care if I die, I just care about getting bored and being forced to take my Y-wing after TIE's.

:)

There's a couple of us in game. I'm out for a few weeks for work, but would love to help out once I get back. What skills, piloting are you going? I'm guessing you're a Reb...

I'm loving being an Imp pilot, mainly because I then can land at Jabba's palace, which is a 1 minute drive from Tusken's Bane (where the Avian district is).

I'm currently a Reb pilot, and have the Z-95 and Y-wing...the latter I am starting to hate. Keep having problems in battles...or it could be my shield gen is wearing out.

I plan to go as Shipwright or something in the Artisan tree with enough combat to keep me alive...for now. Jedi is my final goal. Though I am having some problems leveling my blaster up for some reason :?: I'm only getting 1 point per kill, and Koliea says it should be more.

Ya'll feel free to add me to your friends list in Galaxies. I'll see you in game once my mouse is replaced...it broke while I was at the Rebel Pilot trainer in Theeds... :( :(

not sure if I posted this or not...buuut. my name in game is Alrynth Amakiir.

As for WoW: I play only on the Kel'thuzad server, especially since my girlfriend plays there too. Once I get my epic mount ( pally) I'll look the Avian people up on whatever the server name is lol...cant remember right now.

I just fly into Bestine and take the shuttle. If you get the tickets in advance, coming back to TB is faster than taking the bike.

I'm Antan in game. I play occasionally, usually about once a fortnight.

Alrynth,

Congratulations, your application has been accepted by the Board of Directors and you will be placed in Section 4.

As a new member you might wish to visit the Important Links for Every Member thread. It will greatly help you get caught up with the rest of Avian. Remember that some things at that link may be slightly out of date now that we have expanded into a multi-game Player Association. If you have any questions please feel free to ask me, or any of our members.

Again, Congratulations on your membership.

It means you were lucky. The next Section, Section 5, is filled with loonies and nutcases. :D

Avian is divided into Sections of equal size. Each Section votes for their own representative, the Section Director on our Avian board of Directors, the guild leadership council. The Section 4 Director this term is Flyoc.

You should have access to your Section forum now. I bet they will be happy to answer any further questions there.

Edward

Alrynth,

Please
click here for a list of our current In-game SWG leadership. Any one of them will be able to Sponsor you for membership in the In-game PA.

If the link doesn't work for you right now you might not have access to that forum yet. I'll make sure if you don't have access that you get it ASAP.

The Sections are primarily for representation in the PA Government in general, and you may not have any SWG players in your section.

Alrynth,

That's probably a permission issue, and should be fixed once your new membership settings are fully entered. Try to click it again tomorrow morning... and welcome!

What's section 4?!

It's the place to be my friend. We only let the cool people in.

Here's how it goes:

Section 1: Dorks
Section 2: Nerds
Section 3: Lames
Section 4: Really, really cool people
Section 5: Crazies
Section 6: Weirdos
Section 7: MGJ and the family band.

Speaking Section 5 being the crazy house, it has been a really long time since one of them really flipped out.

Do you think the trend is over, or do you think it is like earthquakes.... As Δt increases, the magnitude of the explosion increases exponentially?

I think the ycome in clusters, like earthquakes. And it only needs a little trigger and the forums fly apart again, rupturing gas mains and sewer pipes and showering us all in...

wait, way too graphic.

Come on, I don't do it that often! Besides these forums have cooled off quite a bit since those times. Remember when we even considered impeaching MGJ? Look at him now, a valued member of the community!

Oh yeah, that is right, once I was in they did not know how to comprehend my leet active-mongoose style. I almost forgot about that.
