General Character Information

What games do you currently enjoy playing the most? - World of Warcraft

What style of gameplay do generally prefer? PvP, PvE, Crafting, etc...? - All of the above, though my history would show that I enjoy PvE most often. In WoW I am interested in being a competent PvP combatant. I see the Crafting and PvE aspects of gaming as assistant to my primary goal. (Though I am becoming quite proud of my budding Mining and Blacksmithing skills)

What game genres do you find most enjoyable? - I enjoy Fantasy, Military, Science Fiction, and some Mech gaming genres.

What unreleased games are you currently following the progress of? – None at the moment as my computer is starting to show its age.

What unreleased games do you plan on playing in the future? None as of this moment

In the games that you currently play, what names do your characters go by? I am playing WoW on multiple servers (Maelstrom, Bonechewer, Thunderlord, and Lightninghoof) 90% of my characters are named Madson. My main 2 are Malestrom and Lightninghoof.

Player Associations

Have you previously been a part of any other Player Associations for any specific games or for gaming in general? Which ones were they, and why did you leave? I have never been a member of any player associations.

With the exception of the ones you have joined (if any) what other Player Associations did you consider? - None

Avian

Have you read and do you understand the text of the official Avian Charter? Yes.

Is there anything you would change or amend to the Charter? The charter I read is based upon SWG. I understand that it would be a time consuming process, but I would be interested to see a slightly modified charter that is directly related to WoW.

Are you aware that a lot of Avian’s organization is conducted on the forum as opposed to in games themselves? How often do you see yourself regularly checking the forums if you are accepted into Avian? - I will probably check the message boards weekly.

Please take a moment to tell us how you found Avian. - I have been a personal friend of Avian member Cordalis for many years now. He and I began playing SWG at launch. We worked together to create MadCord Weapons Inc. I played as Madson, a Creature Handler / Bounty Hunter, and funneled 90% of my questing credits into our business for harvesters, crafting stations, and various other resources so that we could become one of the premier weapons dealers on the Chilastra server. After I tired of SWG, Cordalis became a member of Avian. I have learned about Avian through him.

Please explain why you have chosen Avian and why Avian should choose you. What do you expect to get from your membership in Avian and what do you expect to offer? I have chosen to apply to become an Avian member because Cordalis has assured me that Avian members are mature gamers who have grouped together to have fun in a cooperative atmosphere. I look forward to creating more beneficial relationships like the one I have with Cordalis. I enjoy working as a member of a well organized team. Though my play time is limited, I take the time I do play seriously. I enjoy RP and I agree that real life should be left to private channels and I look forward to questing with other like minded individuals. With that being said, I am an adult and I have a family. I would hope that Avian members will understand that factors beyond my control can and probably will interrupt my playtime from time to time. I am not asking for special treatment, just a modicum of understanding. My characters never grief or team kill and always have a strong sense of honor. If granted membership, I will assist Avian in becoming a respected and powerful guild in any game that I play.

Welcome! Any friend of Cord's can be a friend of mine. Most likely we crossed paths in SWG (my char was named K'Rynn) many a time during our travels yet never knew it.

You'll find that many of us are married and quite a few have kids of a variety of ages. The Avians who are parents will certainly understand last-minute changes and not once since my daughter was born has anything but understanding been demonstrated by Avians when RL responsibilities change my playtime. We have a great group of people here I'm proud to be a part of and I'm sure you'll fit right in. Again, welcome!

Madson

Thank you for applying to Avian Gamers. Your application is currently being reviewed by the Board of Directors. The application process can take anywhere from a day to 2 weeks or more. A lengthy process is no indication of a negative outcome, however the more you participate in the forums the more likely it is that your wait will be short. As soon as a decision has been made, you will be notified.

You are encouraged to participate in these forums, and interact with our members in game.

If you have any questions about Avian Gamers Network, or about Avian in a particular game, please feel free to post your questions in this thread.

Also wanted to say "ditto" to Rocky's comments. I have 2 monsters myself now. You'll fit in just fine.

I'll back up what Rocklar has said. As part of the Junior Adventure Squad of Doom -- JAS(oD) that has been leveling together since later teens (up to late 50's now, except for Manni who probably is level 60), my youngest son (19 months, aka Spud) has interrupted my gaming sessions almost every Friday night for the last 2 months.

The group has never once expressed any anger or brought any problems to my attention or kicked me out of the group. (I'm sure they've had their fill of comments while I was away :P ), but I have not had any negatives from my attention to a sleepless kid.

There are now many of us who do have kids in this group. Welcome!

HA! gotcha to finally apply to Avian!

This guy plays games pretty hardcore in my opinion, when he has time that is.

Oh, you SWG guys will get this one... MadCord or -MC- weapons? he's Madson, i'm Cord...get it?! ok, so we started up that company on SWG.

Really, this guy is a pretty intense gamer. He's a real friend of mine, actually was just best man at my wedding!

So welcome Mads! I'm sure they will treat you well....mostly...for the most part...maybe...ok...whatever...gotta go.

I stated that I have a family... "With that being said, I am an adult and I have a family. " I never said I had kids. I do however have a tempermental fiancee who pretty much hates WoW after me playing for about 2 weeks. And the dog does count cause untill it learns not to crap on my floor it's going to need attention at random times.

See, Cordalis is lucky his wedding is over. If he made that comment to try and sell me out before the wedding the best man's speech would've been a whole lot more interesting... There is some selling that I can do too...

<In a Monty Burns Voice:> Excellent....

welcome madson! :)

on a side note, before I left swg I was in possession of a crate of weapons manufactured by MadCord. I think I got these from Cord back in the day and somehow the crate ended up forgotten in my 2 year mountain of inventories within my many houses. Well I set up a mall of vendors to sell off these mountains of inventory just this summer. I broke the crate up and added the weapons to the weapons vendor. Anyway, it was cool to learn the history of the MadCord weapons I had for sale and yes, some did sell well long after the first CU hehe :)

Madson,

Congratulations, your application has been accepted by the Board of Directors and you will be placed in Section 4.

As a new member you may wish to visit the
Important Links for Every Member thread. It will greatly help you get caught up with the rest of Avian. Remember that some things at that link might be slightly out of date now they we have expanded into a multi-game Player Association. If you have any questions please feel free to ask me, or any of our members.

Again, Congratulations on your membership.

I'm going to have to remember the difference between similar member names:

Mad Son - "Madson"
vs
Mad Is On - "Madison"

Yeah, never mind, I'm smoking crack. I meant Mantison, but "Mad is on" works for him too... he's always been a bit crazy in my book.

Never the less, welcome Madson!
