Ok. These have always been some of the most enjoyable posts on our forums, so I decided we should have a contest.

No physical prizes, just bragging rights, but hey, aint that the best part??

Here's how it will work.

There are two categories:

• Best Sentence Story
• Best Post

We will start a new contest every Quarter, and then at the End of the year we will have the big prizes.

How it will work:

• Any Sentence Story that has at least 10 replies qualifies
• At the end of the Quarter we will accept nominations for stories and posts for a couple of weeks
• At the end of the nomination period we will hold the voting here. All members are encouraged to vote.
• If there are more than 10 stories, or more than 10 posts, nominated then the voting will go multiple rounds, however the voting rounds will last for only 1 week each
• At the end of the voting rounds the winners will be announced

Someone will walk away with the title of Best Avian Sentence Story Writer of the Quarter, and someone will walk away with the title of Best Avian Sentence Story Poster of the Quarter (Q1-2008)

Why only sentence stories?

How about "Best Author of year 20xx"
"Best Single Story"
"Best Fan-Fiction"
...
..
.

and such for those with writer qualities.

Have you seen any stories that qualify for those awards posted here recently?



I didn't think so.

If we start to get more of those then we can consider adding some awards. But historically the Sentence Stories are more of a Collaborative item, which is what I am trying to support.

MGJ, it sounds fine, I usually add the the stories now and then so it sounds fun.

Don't get me wrong, Azz, I think it would be nice to give awards for all kinds of things in this section. But unless we reach the level of posts that we had in this forums Heyday, it doesn't seem like much of a contest.

I here ya', but I have been thinking about writing a sci-fi story for a long time and add it in here to the forums.
The one I made so many years ago was my first thought.
Since then I have come up with dozens of ideas that could be melted together to get a proper storyline.

As for now I think I have about five or six chapters read for writing.

Besides my English teacher is pretty open minded and I'm going to ask her if I could spend the classes writing a story instead of grammarpractice which I got a passing grade on almost 4 years ago.

(I did have credits for them, but the school said they had some more merchantchile english so I had to take it no matter what, but the first year will still be basic... and I'm bored and my teach' can see it).
- and please don't comment my grammar. I hate grammar in all languages in general. Have to learn English, Danish and Greenlandic grammar and they are all different from eachother.

Anyway you got my intentions. Hope for the best.
I wouldn't mind seeing more post counts in the RP forums. I got laggy net so I can't play with you. The only other options is reading your exploits in other games or reading your stories.

And my teach' would go nuts if she saw my writing style... all those contraptions and spelling errors...........
