You can have a maximum of 50 characters across all realms, with up to 10 characters on any one realm.

I honestly hope there'll be another interesting MMORPG out when I've played 50 characters to lvl 60

Unbelievable really. Very happy to see that high of a cap. I will bounce from toon to toon and play what ever strikes my fancy atm.
