Hehe, well I checked it out, I am just not sure what is different. :?

How about we think about using those guild ranks though?

I think they added new images to the page… or so they say in the dev tracker.

The pic of all the guys wearing the tabards was new for me.

Imagining what the Avian tabard will look like. They do have a phoenix in there that might work for us.

A long time ago there was a page, or pic that showed several of the possible tabards.... where did this page or pic go? I would like to look at it again.

/edit
Nevermind, I found this at the Vault

I like this one. Pretty simple, and who says it has to do with birds?

No one said it had to be a bird but since it is customizable maybe we can create something that will make everyone happy. There are also a lot of good premade ones in that list.

On a side note, we'll get to have around 8-10 characters per account, which is cool. For people who have played SWG this is fantastic, but for others who have played other mmorpgs, they'd rather have alot more. :P

Would it be possible to have anything but navy blue and gold/white? Every single tabard under the sun has that color scheme.

I'm eagerly awaiting Locke's answer but I could have sworn there were multiple tabard and outline colors.

They come in different icon colors, background color, tabard border & color. They just used the same colors to better demonstrate the symbols. Look at the pics on the following linked pages, and pay attention, some of the page are the start of several more pages.

Guild Tabards - Background Colors (52 varieties)

Guild Tabards - Icon Colors (17 varieties)

Tabards show up over everything, yes. They are a separate slow than 'armor' or even 'shirt'.

Some classes can wear mail armor, or whatever at higher levels, like I think a Shaman can wear mail armor at level 40 or something.

Nope. Warriors and Paladins can wear mail armor by default - and plate armor at level 40. Hunters wear leather armor, and mail at level 40. Warlocks, Mages, Shamans, Priests = cloth armor. I think Druids wear leather, but maybe only cloth.

No mention of what level required for mail here, just that it may be used once trained.

Level Req should be 40. I guess Shaman are the Horde equivalent of Hunters in that regard. Cool.

There's a tabard viewer at wowvault where you can design tabards, some examples here:
