Was with a pretty crap group today and got wiped about 6 times before getting to VC. Got killed fighting but everyone else ran off and was able to kill his guards off while he was not there. Pally in the group res'ed me and we ended up taking VC out. This was around 5:15 PM. A level 17 mage I had been wasting mana on the whole time looted first and never talked to anyone again. It wouldn't surprise me if he got the head and figured out a way to screw everyone else over. It also wouldn't surprise me if the server problems screwed everyone over either. Regardless I won the last roll for a blue tagged wand and didn't receive it and wasn't able to loot VC either. Looks like I am going back yet again after having killed VC TWICE without being able to loot him. Situations like this #%#ing piss me off to no end. If I have to go in there again I want it to be with Avians who can last longer than 10 secs against level 18-22 elites.

Are there any other missions in the instance besides VC? If so I'll join. I was with you the first time we beat it right rho?

Rho has them all but Roh needs VC. There are 5 deadmines quests, three on the outside of the instance and 2 inside. Between my two toons I have 9 of 10 Roh needs only VC.

I'll definitely go in with you, Rho, but it'd probably have to wait until this weekend. My dwarf hunter is level 21, though, so I should be able to contribute quite well. I will probably not have time to do the quest prior to this weekend, though. Where is the instance located, and what quests do I have to complete first, so I'm ready when we do go.

It's in westfall and you have to do a series of Defias Brotherhood missions prior to getting VC which is the finale. See the guy in the tower in the middle of teh zone to start up.

Did this quest again tonight and again wiped at VC and by then the whole instance had respawned and no way to get back to him. Pretty high level group but terrible strategy against VC. 2 of our members did almost nothing. One was sheeping the guards and the other was then immediately attacking them. Said afterword he didn't know about polymorph spell even though we discussed it right before the fight started.

I will finish this quest if I have to solo it when I reach level 60

At level 21 my mage is up for VC (if that's high enough to survive). I know I can pump out damage (though I did recently change from fire basd to cold based...big mistake for grouping).

I think Zerina is almost rdy for VC. I currently have the "messenger" quest so I think I'm getting close.

But I probably need a few more levels as she is only lvl 17 ATM.

I grouped with a level 17 and IMO that is not high enough. They get resisted by lvl 21 and 22's too often and you spend all your time healing them wasting points that could be spent on healing members who can deal real damage and take agro. The perfect group of lvl 18's might be able to do this quest after they had done it before but I have been in too many groups of 22+ that got wiped and failed to think it would be easy with just a random group. You'll get there though and be wrecking the place in no time.

So as a fire based Mage myself, I should be looking at minimum lvl 20 to do this? Or higher?

Everyone IMO should be 20+ and your healers... the higher the better. The most important thing is communication and good pulling discipline. There are places you can wander into a rout or a wipe if you are not careful and you can avoid if you are careful. Just need to know about them in advance and I am the worst typer out there. 's why I looovvves my teamspeak.

Yeah it was awsome to finally get that quest out of the way even if I didnt get any XP from hardly and of the mobs in the instance Kind of cool how it ended with Dara being the pin cushion for VC until I ran out of mana and dying then Filli going down, then the horrifying wait watching Liro almost die, who was the last one who could rez in the party I thought you and Arindel had had it there at one point.

I died in my "successful" run but we had a pally and another priest. I killed VC singlehandedly and I can say I shot my wad... healing potion, bandage, and desperate prayer all fired off before dying. I was tanking because of the lack of damage dealers in the group.
