The purposes behind collecting these questions are in preparation for at least a couple scenarios: 1) one among us gets into Beta and 2) someone here gets in on a Dev chat and needs some questions to ask. Further, you may be browsing WoW sites and come across an answer someone else was looking for.

That said, please keep posts here limited to questions and answers about WoW (please quote original question in any answer you post and include quotes from other websites or interviews to support answers :P). If you come across something cool, please link to it in the WoW Excitement Thread.

Does anyone have pictures of the various herbs and other resources needed for crafting (a crafting guide created during Beta would be sweet)?

When searching for herbs, will they be identifiable and distinguishable in the world or will my character simply /searchForHerbs and get a random herb?

How about mining? Will I be able to tell where gold or silver or iron deposits are by seeing them in the world or do I simply get near a rock and start digging, hoping for the best?

This shot shows that copper veins are actual objects in the world that let you extract copper if you have the mining skill (and probably the tools of the trade, see him wield that pickaxe!). Also it seems Mining is on a timer, with the Mining bar in the middle of the screen filling up (or emptying?).

Here he extracts the mined copper ore. See the small loot window in the upper left corner?

Sounds like this is revving up nicely. EQ2 sounds interesting, but I am a diehard Blizzard fan.

Crafting sounds interesting, but I may have to go all combat on this one. Perhaps a resource gatherer as well. Any guess when it may be out? 9 months seem like a decent guesstimate.

I will start diving in during my lunch time to see more about it.

Since alot of us are looking forward to this, and there seems to be more and more threads about WoW, how about a new forum?

Yes, on the new forum, and if I get in the Beta then I will try to make a guide for crafting. I just hope I get in.

It seems like herbs will work like mining I think, in that you'll be able to see them as you search perhaps.

In WoW will you be able to own any kind of property like houses? Believe it or not but that is a pretty big factor for me. Having a fully customizable house like in SWG really helps give your character personality.

Yes Rom, although I read they won't be available at release. It'l probably come as a patch a month or two after the release.

<-- Apparently all work and no play makes Aeric a dull boy

But a very profitable relationship, No?

ME,

You cannot something like that without a warning of some kind! If I'd been drinking milk...

Call me a party pooper, but I think WoW will not have houses like SWG does.

The world was all hand created, and I do not see it being able to host 3k player houses.

What I think they may do is do some kind of instancing for your house. Something like the treasure chest in DiabloII, where you may go to a Inn keeper and then be let into your own room. Maybe they can give permissions so that others can enter.... but I do not see the developers letting us plop houses wherever we want.

I agree with you here, Cyrus. I do not see that happening as well.

The only thing I can imagine is them letting you rent a preplaced house, like they are advertising for MEO. Whether those will be instanced remains to be seen.

Edward

Not having a house like in SWG isn't the end of the world. :)...and who knows maybe it will be fully customizable...we never know. :P
