Is it just me or is the Wow Hype Engine losing steam?

Nope, I'm as jazzed as ever about WoW. Not getting into beta was a disappointment but CoH has been a great distraction and has very rewarding play. Pretty much as rewarding as Diablo was.

Then, I heard there was a bit of a lack of architects in Avian City and for some reason, that resonated with me and behold, Liracca was born.

So, am I distracted from WoW at the moment? Yes.

Am I less interested in WoW? No.

Do I still plan on getting WoW? Absolutely!

Will I continue to play both CoH and SWG if I get into WoW beta? Hasn't some scientist somewhere fixed this damn "24-hours-in-a-day" problem yet?

So, am I distracted from WoW at the moment? I am giving SWG another good try. There is much about SWG that I think is better than WoW… however the SWG shortfalls do piss me off at times.

Am I less interested in WoW? Yes, there is nothing new coming out of WoW beta that I have not seen already. So that makes me less interested.

Do I still plan on getting WoW? Maybe. If SWG can get its crap fixed I would not feel the urge to spend my money elsewhere. They are making good progress…. But the fact that so much of the game is not near perfect form is disgorging. This game is a year old already and they still have not figured out how to do battlefields nor get the CGW working. We are still waiting on the combat balance…. And every day I see more good people quiting.

With the amazing community the game had going into release, this game would have rocked if SOE had done their part. But they did not, and many have quit, and the game experience is less because of their absence.

I'm still very much interested in WoW.

The thing is I don't have time to investigate every facet of the game. Once a release date comes about I might do more research or just let the game hit me in the face when I do play.

Right now I'm in CoH and having fun. The only problems with CoH is that I don't get to play when other people are on and I haven't seen Copper Top in-game yet.

I have about 3-4 characters that I want to play. I always try to get going with Shangri-la (Empath/Defender, but I can't solo with him). Otherwise, I have 2 scrappers and 1 Tank that I am working on.

Mealtime the tanker, I'm trying to have lots of fun with. I'll be working on all his fight dialog very soon.

I was gaining interest in WoW until I started hearing more about City of Heroes. From what I understand, it could be the savior of the MMO genre.

An article in the new EGM summed it up nicely. I'm very anticipatory about the game, but right now it seems like a very cookie cutter MMORPG with great art design. I still don't see much that says it's not EQ w/ a WC facelift. Of course I hope I'm wrong, but without playing beta it's hard to know.

Will I still play, why hell yes. But, my excitement has cooled off a bit.

The instanced PvP battlefields, they have all the old warcraft maps as "zones" you can play in. The whole idea of playing foot-level in GoW or Planes of Zone is just too incredible to pass up.

Yeah, it's awesome! I went to booty bay and Duskwood....and omfg...Duskwood is so eary, scarey, mysterious...its so dark, and foggy in there...lots of spiders, cobwebs on the trees, the trees blowing in the wind...I think trees blow in the wind...errr I'll have to check that...but anyway...it's got alot of graveyards, old destroyed houses, dirt winding paths, undead, some ghosts, and other creatures. Booty bay is cool too...looks just like the Warcraft 3 map. :D

-Keb, your gonna love this game! 8)

p.s. Duskwood also has some really nice ambience, and scarey type music.

The Hunter class is set to enter the beta either today, Friday, or the beginning of next week. I can't wait for that! :D

Here's the Hunter page that went up yesterday: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/cla ... nter.shtml
