Less Stress or More Fun
Less Test or More Production Ready?

How's the game looking from all you others than manages to grab yourself a copy of the game?

You can see some of the stuff we wrote about it here if you havent' seen:
http://www.swg-avian.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=12641

Test or ready- I'd say still needs more testing. The game runs smoothly but there are still a lot of items missing so it isn't polished. If it was SWG... it would be going gold next week. :) But I'm glad the devs are committed to getting everything in before releasing AND having it tested AND are willing to make changes if what they have doesn't work out.

Only wish I had more time past the stress test.

Score at this point...
Blizzard - World of Warcraft: 1
Sony - Star Wars: Galaxies: 0

Its *excellent* at this point, there are crowding issues, but to be expected when 100,000 people all start out at roughly the same times and need quests :P

Yeah a bit of crowding in the newbie zones, but so far I have 3 characters all on different servers.

I have enjoyed it quite a bit, and will probably pick it up when it comes out, whether it will hold my interest beyond a certain point it remains to be seen, I havent had a chance to try and of the trade skills except a little skinning so far.

I have to admit, if WoW were released right now and I could only play a single MMO, I would pick WoW despite the various bits that are not polished (as reported above).

I have NO doubt I will be playing this game when it comes out.

Would love to coordinate with you guys on a server.

I tried out one of the unpolished things last night- PvP. Basically if your near a person with the other faction you can attack them just like any other NPC. So no TEF or anything. Really it is like beating up on NPC's, you can't talk to them (you have to learn their language so if they speak it comes out kinda of like "wookie" in SWG) which made taunting hard (but dancing on a corpse gets the job done). Without slow spells, most of them just high tail it away from you before they die. And since the drawfs are so freak'n fast- they are gone before you can give them a good curse.

If you take the boat from Ratchet (if your in the horde) you can usually find some Alliance players near Bootybay. Or sometimes the alliance players tried taking the ship back to Ratchet. Only, we had spies hiding in Booty Bay telling us when the next ship load was coming and we set ambushes at the docks. :)

PvP was fun like it was, but if/when they add everything they plan to then it should be much more entertaining.

The WoW developers have ALOT planned for PVP. Most of it isn't even in the game yet. There may be castles for both sides, that you can siege, like in a pvp server, but thats only a educated guess from what I've been reading and hearing.

*cough* The only reason I can reply to this post is because the WoW servers are down atm. :P

It would be an honor to pay for this game. It's a blast.

Anyone know if we should go ahead and uninstall, or leave the data we have just in case open starts so we don't have to redownload?

UPDATE
From the desk of the Team Lead:
By the time we reach Open Beta and/or Retail, the game client will probably be vastly different from the form it is in now, and leaving the game installed won't be very beneficial in any case.

We cannot say definitively at this point our plans for the Stress test build. If you can afford to keep 2-3 gigabytes of unused data on your computer for several months, then in all likelihood, it probably wouldn't hurt to leave it there.

However, there is a chance that things might radically change from now till when you can use the client again and the current build might very well become unusable at that point.

That's the best answer I can give right now, but I'll try to find someone who may have a more definite answer.
