This poll is to judge if there is a need for a division of Avian between Alliance and Horde, and to see what race Avians will be playing as.

You forget this is MCS and we can have up to 8 characters.

While I think my main will be a Gnome Mage (or Dwarf Paladin), I think I will branch out into other areas.

Gimme the Open Beta so I can dabble...

I believe most people will play one side or the other on their main character though. I myself would love for Avian to be on the same side with their main characters to keep the community more together.

Because of a good friend of mine at work, the first character I start will be an undead mage. My main character and the one I expect to play the most and with you guys a lot as well was going to be a gnomish priest but gnomes can't be priests so I will decide between human and night elf.

I don't know. I'm going to start as Alliance, but which race or class to start with, I am not sure.

We miles well just all go Alliance.......I was going to play an Undead Mage...but that will probably be my second character on the pvp server, or something...but anyway I voted for Alliance Human, since I'm most likely going to be playing a Human Paladin, like I did in Diablo 2, hehe. :)

My final decision remains to be seen - especially whether or not the aggro-management is actually fixed, and if paladins are too - they don't seem to work like they should at the moment.

I'm thinking at this point, at least in Open Beta - I don't know about release, my main is going to be a Tauren hunter.

Reason I'm unsure about it is because if you check the WoW Support forums: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.a ... #post28116 - especially that thread... Error #132 has been the bane of my existance. It's the one reason I haven't pre-ordered, and if it's not fixed, I may wait to buy it.

I think that saying your only going to play one side will really cut down how much of the game you will see. One faction = 50% of the game in my book. There are so many quest/experiences you can not compete by limiting yourself to one.

As far as guilds go, I guess it is a good idea to have one main because it would become hard to manage both.

I'm playin' a Human Paladin I think. If we did the "choose a side" thing, I have no doubt in my mind that eventually people will want to leave Avian and go play the other side for a while. I guess it's not that big a deal if that happens.

I will start with a Dwarf Warrior, but plan to play both sides as well.

What if we have our guild on the alliance side and team up with another guild that is on the Horde?

Traditionally, this goes against the PA rules. If you're a member of Avian, you are barred from joining other PAs. Not tryin' to bust your balls or anything, just informing.

Those rules like that need to be looked at. As we move to a multi game environment, our goal is less about SWG security, and more about meeting the needs of fellow gamers. If Avian has a strong alliance force, but a weak horde force, the horde players will need to find a group to play with somewhere. Besides those rules only applied to the same server.

That being said, I think we need to focus on starting one faction. Then over time when the rest of us are ready, start working on the other faction. The majority of Avians want to start off in the Alliance... so if a member chooses to be horde when the rest of us are not ready to be horde, he should know what he is getting into... and should not expect full guild action right away.

I plan on having an Alliance character in Avian and a few alts... The thing is, if my main is in Avian I may go elsewhere with a couple of my alts. I want to try PvP (not sure where we stand with this atm), and I want to play with some of my other friends that are playing the game. I definitely have been enjoying playing Horde as well.

If Avian has a Horde guild, sweet... if not, oh well... I may just start one up and invite you all to join anyhow. It doesn't necessarily have to be a part of the Avian government if we decide it would be too much trouble. It can just be an in-game guild, although I think it would be helpful to use these forums.

If it's on a different server, are we still forbidden from joining a second guild?

*edit* Cyrus answered my question *thanks*

I agree with Cyrus... we don't have to start both guilds right away. Let's plan to have one to start and go from there as needed. We should still continue discussion about the Horde one, but let's not rush to get it going.

Makes sense to me. I'm not against looking at some of the old rules in the new atmosphere we have here.

You might find opposition from others however.

I plan on playing a gnomish mage as my main to begin with.

Nothing against the SWG'ers but the people who have broken away and are thinking about starting a second guild should be open minded to other changes as well. I would doubt there is much if any opposition among those of us planning on WoW.

If there are a few Avians who have their hearts strongly set on playing a horde character, then I wouldn't mind picking a horde character as well, to help them out. I have an interest in a Tauren Shaman or an Undead mage, along with my Human Paladin. Besides, I do have alot of knowledge about the game since I've been able to test it out, so I could definitely help those Avian Horde Newbies. I think it will be good if we have at least one Avian who knows the game well, on each side to help each other out and answer some questions when in game....I'll have to see how the paladin class plays out a little bit first though..

I hear ya. Unfortunately, I think the rule in question here, as to whether it's permissable to join another guild, would seem to fall under the parent government jurisdiction. I certainly agree it should be looked at indepth, but not sure how some of the others on the board are going to react. /shrug

My 11th grade Math teacher used to tell us that we could cheat on his tests.

But, if he found you cheating you would fail his class...If an Avian member had another account in SWG they could probably join another PA with noone the wiser.

I don't think we need exclusive rights to people's time, just the commitment to be an Avian when you are playing the game with your Avian identified character (more or less following the guidelines set up by the game/goverment).

I would think that any alts would not be subject to Avian rules and regulations. Not that I have enough time to really have more than 1 main character.

This is a conspiracy here. Me, the only one who wants to play horde? I hate you people.

I said that I'd gladly play a Tauren Shaman, or an Undead Mage. My main character was orginally supposed to be Undead Made, but then I switched it to Human Paladin. I may still play Undead Mage, or Tauren Shaman though. I haven't really decided yet.

..and Orbital, I'd be more then happy to play with you on the Horde side...we could have our own little Avian guild over there. :P

The way I see it, it might be best to make Avian mainly Alliance. Alt characters will not be regulated so a seperate cell of Horde could be created. My only concern is keeping Avian's resources concentrated on one faction so that we will all be able to play together. I want us to be known presence in the WoW universe, after all isn't our goal to "make Avian a household name"? :)

Thing that sucks about that, Calvin, is that there's no player housing in World of Warcraft. ;)
