Then again I have to wait until I get home. I should have taken rogue so I could sneak past the family and play when I get home.

I wish it was tomorrow already, and I had the game in my hand. *sigh*

Get this:

Tomorrow I have a full day of classes. 7:30 - 3:30 and I can not skip any of then because we are starting to review for finals. I have a short break at 10:00 when I plan on picking up the game, but then it is back to class. I can play a little after 3:30 but I will probably have work to do on major project due the next day.

Wednesday I only have one class that starts at 2:00, good right? Wrong. Wednesday we are turning in our major project for the class. It is a construction estimate for a local credit union, ~ 1.5 million dollars worth of work. Being that the project is due Wednesday, my group is meeting at my house at 9:00 in the morning to prep the documents and to do any last minute tweaking. So no playing WoW until 3:00 after Wednesday.

But wait that is not it. Wednesday at 5:00PM I have to pickup Danyale from her office and drive 3 hours to my parents home for Thanksgiving. One can only pray that my fathers PC will run the game… but even if it does, odds are my wife will hog the PC.

I don’t think I have ever been so screwed for a games release.

I feel your pain. I've got a good amount of homework to do over break, and three papers to write. I won't be able to play WoW until probably Wednesday night. I have to drive back home from Connecticut where I goto college, to where my house is in New Jersey. That's at least a couple of hours. Then I've got some unpacking to do, and I'll probably start on the papers. I'll be writing the papers all week, and probably going out for a couple of nights to see my home friends. I won't really have much time to play WoW until Christmas break, in which I'll have a good 5 weeks off.

Heh, get this. I can't play until I get a new computer, for which I need to come up with $800. Beat that, slackers.

I can't play until I speed home from the mall on Tuesday morning. Then I only have until Thursday at 2:30pm to cram in oh... about 40 hours of playing. Then I have to work for 9 whole hours before I can start in again...

You're right I can't beat that. 8)

Is anyone one else with me when I say "I REALLY hate New Release Tuesday"? No idea why they all picked that day of all days to use most often when they ask retailers to sell their games. I guess it has to do with stocking over the weekend and whatnot. Or maybe they know that some games might cause stock markets to crash when world employees are "hung over" Monday from to much gaming during the weekend if they launched their games just before those started.

I think it's just poor timing for the release, it's going to be putting some of ye into the "dog house" if you try to play to much on this "holiday". Bah, best of luck to ye trying to crank out some playage...

You somehow forgot the part where you set up three WoW accounts and send out account details across the globe

So I can come home after a long day of work, eat some leisurely dinner, tuck in the kids before eight, sit down in front of my nice computer, pick up the login details from my inbox and... start cursing as I have to download oodles of patches before I can get any play time.

Yeah Tuesday before Thanksgiving is very unkind to us older gamers with kids.

It's pure discrimination I tell you. First, the marriage penalty and now this... :P :x

And take care of ME, we don't need another 3 month hiatus...

I'm sure they released it today on purpose. It isn't too long after EQ2 launch to not hurt them much. It is before the holiday buying season so they'll pick up sales then. And it is over a family holiday weekend, easing the load on their log in servers initially and drastically splitting up their playing population. Those in college will either be playing non-stop or travelling hom (again splitting the population and easing their log-in servers) and the rest of us will have limited time at best. Its not a bad play by Blizzard.

Games/Books/Movies = Tuesday
Comic Books = Wednesday
New Movies in Theaters = Thursday

American industry standards that all distribution facilites/large retail shops plan around...

PS - I'm in a staff meeting ATM. I'm running to Best Buy (which just opened 8 minutes ago) to grab Kharlaq's key as soon as these whackos shut their cake-holes.

I really feel that pain.

Will get the game at lunch, but get home and hockey practice w/ the daughter, then the wife goes to the salon for HER time while I watch the kids, then pack for a wednesday morning trip to HER family. Won't get back 'til Sunday evening.

Life can be so unfair.
