Avian Gamers Network :: View topic - Game unplayable tonight

Last night, players on the realms listed below experienced some disconnects and lag. We were able to locate the source of these problems, and implementing a fix will require some new hardware. We wanted to let players on the affected realms – the five listed below – know that installing and configuring this hardware could take up to five days. The first phase of this hardware maintenance will be conducted during non-peak play time. We will post another message shortly with more details on this maintenance.

Until the hardware is fully implemented, we will be decreasing the player caps on the affected realms. This should allow some players to play on these realms with improved performance. We will work to resolve these issues as rapidly as possible, but we will also do our best to avoid conducting maintenance during peak times. Progress updates will be provided on a regular basis.

Tonight I could not loot, could not mine... I know the AH is off limits during peek times so I did not even try it... basically Danyale and I could not play. I can play my ass off during the day, but by the time my wife gets home the server goes to crap. Are the devs actually working on fixing this? I hate their forums because it is imposable to find the latest posts by the devs... and it seems every time I want to post it wont let me. What have they said, if anything, about AH lag? I saw a post by them saying they were aware some people could not "play" and were working on it. When they say "Cant Play" are they addressing my problems, or not. I mean they can’t get much more vague… and you cant tell me the devs are too busy fixing the game to post…. The ones that post only are community relations guys, all they do is post, that is their job, so there is no reason they should be so vague. Anyone have a link to some info?

They know they have server issues. They are working on it. That is why they aren't shipping more units to sell. There is a "protest" tonight where a bunch of assholes are launching DOS attacks on the server more or less, in protest of Warriors and their lack of "utility" of all things... Yeah, it sucks when you can't play, but they are working it out... just gonna take some time.

There is a message at the login screen that says they are aware of the issues affecting our realm and that they will be doing some maintenance to repair it... From what I have hear in-game they will be upgrading the hardware on our server within the next 5 days.

i had the same problems seem to only effects playing after 6 pm or what not, like last night i took off from work and it just suxed game play wise but today i was fine as i left before 5pm

another extended down period for poor ol' Dalaran... Hope its not too bad... 5 days??? wonder if that means at some point it will be done for several days in a row?

It is crazy how well the game is during the day, but under the peek load it grinds to a halt. They just took our server down for stage 1 of its planned hardware upgrade. Server shutdown was 30 minutes early so I am guessing Bliz is itching to install it. Lets hope this new hardware is the fix we are looking for.

Its up.... Wont be able to tell if it is better until peek time.... as it is always good up until 5 or 6 PM

I played during peak hours last night and the lag was pretty much gone for me, even AH was working like a dream. Only thing was some load lag inside IF but that's because my computer sorely needs a new motherboard...
