I have had this problem for a while now. when ever I complete a mission about 2/5 times my screen will freeze up. The only solution is to restart my computer. It was suggested that it was a sound issue. Well I bougt a Sound Card today and sure enough the very first mission I completed I froze up. This really is beginning to wear me down. Anyone know of a possible solution? |

Hmm... never heard of that problem. I'll ask the technical support guys when I get a chance. Edward |

heh I forgot we had our very own Blizzard Head! I haven't frozen up in a few hours (knocks on every piece of wood in the house). I installed a sound card and still crashed, I turned off the MoBo sound and still crashed, I then updated the card drivers and have not crashed yet. I also uninstalled some sound aps and control devices that came with the MoBo (intel board). We'll see how it goes. I tried to post of WoW but for some reason I cannot log in I get Login Failed even though I posted earlier today with no problems. |

I don't think Master Edward is actaully a Blizzard head-honcho, or even in tech support. It's my understanding he's more in the European game design/facilitation part, so probably won't be able to do more then forward any questions to the same tech support guys we'd contact if we went the official routes... Have you tried defragging your hard drive lately? Also, are you using a router or wireless router? If so, try plugging directly into your cable modem from your computer and see if you get the same problems. I have the same issues with both WoW and COH and that works for me because my router's pretty crappy). Also, you might try uninstalling all of WoW, and then ocmpletely reinstall it. Also, make sure you have the newest video and sound drivers from your vendor's site... using the stardard Microsoft ones won't work well. |

do they freeze or you just cannot stand up? If you just cannot stand then this is a known issue and happens wether gathering or mining, very annoying. |

Anchee wrote: Got another problem... Sometimes things freeze up when i gather herbs... Yeah, that's a known problem. Apparently the only thing that works is logging out and logging back in.

Sounds like the old problems we had a few weeks before beta ended. Something about lag when adding to your inventory. I have not seen this problem in a long time.... and I hope I never do.... it is a complete game stopper when it starts happening. |

I have the problem about once every few sessions when mining. I usually just try to attack a nearby creature, and it seems to reset things. |

as for my crash. Ive been keeping log of who I am talking to and it seems very consistant that is I crash once with a certain NPC I always will. Ill keep an eye out for Adding to my Inv. That makes since and could be the issue. But why only me! ![]() |

But why only me! ![]() That's weird because the way you described the problem in game it sure seemed sound related. Since you've been logging the events... is there anything specific you're doing each time, or does it seem more random? |

That sounds like you have one corrupted file on your PC that is getting loaded and causing the game client to crash whenever you're around a particular NPC... tried a full reinstall? |

It has to be something on my Box. I thought, like Jeger, that is was a sound issue it just made since. But I have a sound card now and the problem is still there. It could be a corrupted file. Like I said if I crash once with an NPC I will 95% of the time but not 100%. I think 60-70% of the time I receive an item in my Inv but not 100%. What is new is before I would just freeze up no sound no nothing. Now with my card I can hear the music skipping like it is looping the same fraction of music. I HD is 97% defragged (according to Norton). I did a full install a while ago, but that was for a different issue. I cannot remember if I crashed prior to that. I may try that this weekend. It very well could be a corrupted file. The only thing that is 100% consistant is that I crash when I turn in a quest to an NPC. What is odd is when I got my new sound card I went almost 48 hours with no crashes. Then once I returned to Duskwood I crash - I crash in other places as well. Ill keep my eye out for places I do not crash and see if I see anything in that patteren as well. |
