This is one of the main reasons I dont like pickup groups.... (rant

)
Got a pickup group today and we agreed to go after the final boss in Uldaman.
Had a lvl 48 druid, a lvl 46 mage, a lvl 43 paladin, a lvl 42 warrior and me (lvl 45 mage).
Everything was going well untill we got down there. The other Mage was having some aggro problems, but we all thought it was because he was throwing around too much fireballs and what not. Died a few times due to warrior not beeing able to keep aggro from the healer (druid) but that can happen to anybody.
Well.....we had a plan for taking the out big giant. The paladin and the other mage was going to take all the adds that comes to life when the main boss looses health, and the warrior was going to tank the boss while I threw my mana bar at him. The healer was.... well healing (mainly the tank)
Ok. We are all set to give this thing a shot (didnt think we were going to make it, but thats another story)
What happened?
Well.....We wake up the darn giant, then suddendly both the warrior, paladin and the other mage went after the minions. I was stuck TANKING the darn giant while the druid spent most of his mana keeping me alive. (cloth armor and few hitpoints needs lots of healing

)I cried out lots of times for the warrior to get his arse moving and take over the tanking job, but got no responses. The healer tried to get his attention too, but to no avail. So.....we got him down to 3/4 health when the healer had to do something (about me tanking the darn thing) and shapeshifted to bear form and took over the aggro.
Needless to say, with out a healer (paladin was wandering around and killing minions with a smile and didnt pay attention to anything else) we went down pretty fast. The druid in bear form did a good job and we got the boss down to 22% or so before we died.
We decided to try again, yelled at the warrior for not doing the tanking, and he promised to tank this time. Tried to tell him that he had to put on a shield to get more armor, but he kept saying "Nah....Id rather dual wield. Do more damage that way". Ok, something was definitly wrong here. The druid and I kept insisting that he equiped the shield and he finally agreed. I also told him to stay in defensive stance so he would take less damage, last longer AND have better aggro controll on the boss with Taunt and what not.
You know what he said? "I havent trained many skills since I have been saving for a mount allmost since I started. Dont have taunt and (insert the rest of the usefull tank skills here)"
Well that was it for the Druid. He just left the group and used HS to get out of the dungeon. Needless to say, we didnt give the boss another shot and teleported out of there. The warrior couldnt figure out what was so wrong about him not having defensive skills, and I think he is still pondering about that one. He is aparently not a quick learner....
Left my old guild yesterday since I have been 3-5 levels above them for a while. Not many quests I could do with them, so I mostly relied on pickup groups. Got into a new guild that have 20 or so lvl 40+ people, which should make it easier to group with decent people my own level.
