You can start there, just change it to your correct class.

Cool - I forgot they had beefed up that part of the official site. I've been using the Talent Calculator at WoW Vault but I guess the official one should be pretty much guaranteed 100% accurate. :)

The calculator is a great tool.
However, since talents are so precious, I wonder if there are some level 60s (or close) that can maybe layout what they ended up with and to what effect. Something on the order of:
"While grouping, MyChar wanted to be the ultimate healer (or magician, etc), but still dish a good thumping (or spell, etc), so he chose this, this, this and this..."

What class are you again? I could give a few pointers for the hunter path (as could just about everyone here  )

My holy build is 21/30/0 (disc/holy/shadow)

Pros: Increased mana, Better healing, and Improved buffs.

Cons: No offensive capability given by talents. (other than my demeanor)
:D

Jegs, I know we need a healer more than a damage dealer but you should check out this post. Pretty interesting about how much damage a shadow specced priest can do.

If I have seen anything that screams nerf more than this I can't remember it.

In the 5 man group we have built, we have tuned our talents to complement each other.

He has gone holy to be a great healer, Titanus is protection spec to be an impenetrable fortress, I have gone fire for pure damage and no survivability (except for the holy priest... thank goodness)..

I love my shadow spec'd priest but mainly due to soloing ability, almost all my points are in shadow, I can heal if needed while not in shadow form but I can do quite a bit more damage in shadow form. To compliment not being able to heal in shadow form I nearly have 300 in first aid :-/. Once to 60 I might switch over to holy though since I more than likely will not be a damage dealer in parties

Being a mage is, IMO pretty easy. The 3 trees are pretty balanced, really any of them can help you level.

Fire is more damage early on. Ice is more Crowd Control and Arcane is gonna help a bit more with conserving mana in the beginning.

As a Fire Mage, I went Improved Fireball so I could get Pyroblast (one of the Mage's best spells IMO). If you stay in the Fire tree Ignite is a absolute must and Improved Fireblast and Flame Throwing are really nice too.

Arindel, can give you some pointers on being an Ice Mage, and the main boards have some great guides for Area of Effect leveling. Tough to master, but once you do you can really level up quick.

I think Deak is a fire mage too, hit him up for some info too.

basically it comes down to what kind of style u like to play :)

rouges are great solo chars that can do alot, higher lvl quest by themself for 1 :)

There's the kicker.

I am Well aware of the damge potential of a shadow priest, even went full shadow early on with Guds, but the group we have dictated we needed a Full blown holy priest.

Had I stayed Shadow, the group we have would not have been able to pull of some of the things we have been able to.

Had Titanus went fury or Arms, I would be healing him alot more.

Had Manni stayed frost, things would not be dropping so fast.

Had Milo not joined up, we would be unable to do the damage we do, and pull as effectively

Had Roran never bought into the group, We'd still be somewhere in the 30s because the priest never gets healed or he's off doing a corpse run.m My logevity in Battle is directly related to the attention of a secondary healer. ( i happen to forget about my Health bar, I NEED a secondary healer and a pally fits that job perfectly)

We agreed early on that our builds would compliment our roles in that group. For instance, Had I been a full shadow priest, The "Titanus ZF incident of 2005" would not have taken place, and we'd be going back through ZF for the divino-matic rod quest most likely. I'll take one for the team, If they agree to stick it out with me, And for the most part, I've been very happy with the results of a static group.

The 21/30 build I have planned will make me an even more efficient healer, But with less damage capabilities.

Great explanation of teamwork there Jegs. Makes me wish I could come fill in from time to time with yas but Krynger is about 22 levels behind.

I may have to try and find a static group aroung lvl 20.

Find a Tank and Healer, The rest is Your choice. A druid/Pally secondary healer makes for some easy recovery from a bad pull or an "almost" wipe.

If you want to go frost mage I can give you my best recommendation.

While it does offer some excellent crowd control and relatively decent damage (a great rogue can produce as much damage), there is the side benefit of it being a relatively good solo class.

That's good news Shad. Krynger is now 19 (well 200xp from it).

Now if we can get ya some sleeping pills to ensure you'll play at guaranteed times I'll be around we might have something in the works here :D

Speaking of hax, does anyone still have that link to the video comic about hax in counter-strike? It was the one where the high school kid thinks he's hot-stuff then gets pwned, then ultimately goes on a rampage. I can't find it thru searching the avian site (lost in the relocation?).
