Post subject: | Reloading WoW.....a few questions |
I been having major lag problems since I deleted and restored my interface folder...the game ran fine for about 2 weeks then started to slow up on me... so before I go and reload windows( incase thats the problem) I'd like to delete my entire WoW file and reload it.... I was wondering has anyone done this....my major concern is what will happen if I have to enter my CD key again, obviously I used it when I got the game and I'm not sure if I can use it again. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated... |

the cd key is used only for your account creation. i have uninstalled and reinstalled WoW countless times on jenns computer. you will never need to enter the cd key again. also, a tip for installing(if you have the disk space), you can copy all of the install files off of the cd into a folder on your pc. then start the setup and you wont have to change disks or anything. also, download this: http://files.filefront.com/wow+180+enus ... einfo.html it will patch you from a fresh install all the way to 1.8. ![]() |

Evergamer is correct, you will not be prompted for your CD key. It is only needed when you create an account. Your existing account will still be on the blizzard login server. Once you reinstall the game you will be asked to enter your username and Password like usual and you will be back in the game. The key is only need if you choose to create a new account. You will be fine if you delete your WoW folder and reinstall. |
