I don't see any official announcements....but I think it's safe to say 2006 and beyond.

The engine exists; the expansion will be the same game with new textures. There will be more content, but nothing drastically different than the content they roll out every few months... except this time there will be tons of content all at once.

I don’t see much in this expansion that will take an enormous amount of time. But then again Blizzard is not in the habit of releasing junk early. That is SoE's Modus Operandi.

The IGN article said there was a demo but that demo was a video with almost all concept art.

It sounds like they have the graphics started and the code will be started shortly. Given that I think 6 months till beta.

Blizzard will release it whe nthey feel it's ready.

Do you guys remember what they did for an expansion in Diablo 2? They took a pretty good game and made it a great game (especially for the value you got out of it).

i'd like to see some better crafting options, personally.

Looking on EBgames.com they show (albeit just a guess I believe) a release date for the expansion of 7/1/2006.

I find it interesting that of all the votes we had way back when, that none of them picked Q3/2006. (even if it is the first day of Q3)
