Just saw this posting for a preorder. Now I never place much weight on vendor "expected release dates" but this was the first preorder I have seen. Anyone else see any other proposed dates or news directly from Blizz? http://www.ogamingstore.com/World_of_Warcraft_The_Burning_Crusade_PC_p/unavailable.htm |

They could charge twice that I'm sure. I know I'd pay it, and I'm not alone. Sad to say but I'm hooked. Can't believe that there is any basis to the release date on that site. I know some sites set abirtrary dates for stuff like that. |

Yeah, it's like heroin, but hard to quit. So yeah...I'll be picking it up. |

Bah.... $40 for an expansion and you gripe about cost.... try looking at anime.... $30 for 3-4 episodes and the avg series has 26 episodes.... ( Anime = Crack ) FTW!!! ![]() |

http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/threa ... =1&sid=1#3 When is Burning Crusade planned to release? Nethaera wrote: "When it's ready," aka we are shooting for Q4 2006 (Q4 runs from Oct- Dec) however we have not released an official date as of yet. When you see retailer listings of dates, they are doing their best to give an estimate from the information they have. They are required to have a date even if it's an inaccurate one.

There's no way they'll miss a Christmas shopping release. Especially since North America and South Korea are primarily Christian. Besides, they'll need to compete with SOE's latest release of SWG: The Complete Online Adventures, which is the same things as the last SWG pack, with a new name. That's some tough competition! |

Actually, there is a way. Blizzard doesn't release a thing until they feel it's ready (which is why I always feel comfortable buying their product the first day...never will happen with a SOE product again). hehe...on the competition piece ![]() |

I think Arindel is right. They can afford to miss xmas. 7 million subscribers now. That's about $1 Billion a year in subscription fees! ![]() |

![]() and if only 1/4 of those people buy the x-pac (very conservative figure), not even counting new customers who will buy the orig. and the x-pac, you're talking a $70mil. bonus! |

Look at history. Specifcally the release of Diablo 2. Blizzard has a goal in mind for product release, not a date. |

DII always comes to my mind. At the time I hated the delay, but now in the post SWG world I have to respect them for putting product quality before bank accounts. Bliz will not think twice about missing Christmas, but it sure is fun speculating that they will make the quarter. It would be one hot gift for the holidays. If they did release over the holidays, I wonder if the servers could handle the load if they did release over the holidays. I remember getting into the WoW beta and thinking at that time it was the best polished game I had ever played. Even then Bliz kept beta going for several months more. |
