Post subject:  Newbie little question about quests

OK, so I've done a few, no problem. Then, today I completed one and I'm like .. hmmm, where is this guy, I can't remember. Is there an easy way to remember where the quest giver is located? Seems like there should be a marker or waypoint or something. I've been looking for a mod that would do this but have not found anything, except, I think "Atlas" where I can put a note on the map.

If I can't find the gold marker on the map for the NPC, or the hints from the quest don't remind me, I usually go to thottbot.com and do a search on the quest name. That will usually help you.

Ahh, that may help me then. I didn't realize there was a marker on the map. Thanks! I'll have to take a look.

The marker only shows up however when you get close to the quest giver...

It's generally in the quest objectives, like "Kill 20 boar for Maurice at the Lion's Pride Inn". Else, you can go have a look on thottbot :)

I know your pain.... sometimes the first quest or two in a chain give you hints about where the quest giver is. However later on the 4th or 5th quest for the same guy, the hints are no longer part of the quest text. I guess they assume you know the guy by now.... however I never do.

So I go to www.thottbot.com , click "Find", then "Quest" and then search by quest name. You do not have to fill in all the other boxes, the quest name is usually all it takes. From there the website will return a list of quests. Choose the one you are on, and then you can see where the quest starts and ends. You can click a link to see a map that shows his location. You can see the cords for the guy. And sometimes other players will post information that will help you get passed hard quests.

Another thing I do with thottbot is look up what creature has the highest drop % for quest items. No need to kill X with Y has 20% more chance to drop what I need. The site will also shoe you a map of where those creatures are.
