fresh off of digg.com

Raids are a big part of high level gameplay. They become necessary when players find themselves challenged to complete quests full of monstrously powerful baddies incapable of being taken on without the strong support and love of a few friends. In days past, raiders would need around 40 of these chummy fighters to stand a chance. The days of needing to pump up guild recruitment pressure to gain the bodies necessary to take on the biggest challenges are about to change. With the Burning Crusade addition, players will now only need to gather about 25 others to run screaming into danger's fat face.

Woot! comes directly to mind

Don't woot to early, imo. I'm not even sure this change is casual-friendly yet.

Well, it can't be... 5-man raids are barely casually friendly...

Switching from 40 to 25 man raids, still means I won't be doing them...

As a guild, we stand a better chance to do 25-man raids over 40-man. Raiding is the best part of the game, if you don;t do them you're missing some great fun!

A 25 person raid will be alot easier to fill than the 40. On Maelstrom we even struggle to get a full 40 to hit up Ony sometimes, and that only requires like an hour time commitment.

I welcome the 25 person max, especially for the increased chance at actually getting the lootz :P

just because its easier to fill doesnt mean it is easier to run.

IMO, ZG/AQ are much harder than MC. Mainly, because it takes proper class balance.

To me, and I think a lot of people, casual doesn't mean less people, it means less time, especially at one sitting. I'm guessing these 25 man raids will still be 3+ hour runs, which means I will rarely if ever do them.

There will be a lot of time spent learning new encounters (not to mention lots of wipes = lots of gold on repairs). But I think there will be enough players in SoA to take up the challenge.
