Blizzard began the closed-beta phase of testing on World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade earlier this month. The January 2007 release window will allow extra time for current beta testers to participate in the final stages of development and continue providing valuable feedback.

Further information on specific worldwide release dates, pricing, and other details will be announced in the near future.

Hummm missed the holidays in order to fine tune the expansion.

I guess you could still buy the game pre order as a gift.

Did Blizzard get the best of both worlds? (Holiday sales and polished game play)








SOE would release by thanksgiving in order to get our money, then spend years fixing, undoing, and fixing again.

Crap was looking forward to getting my perorder next month and getting to play it. Oh well I rather have this than a CU release (or any of the SWG releases really)

Ditto, Though today I went to separate the expansion, at my local EBGames store and it still said the 28th of Nov, but since it was announced today I guess they won't have it updated yet. anyways this gives me some time to either lvl a new toon or really trick out Heorogar :D

one thing that I didn't quite get was that many PVP rank grinders are happy about this as it gives the 'more time to gain rank' before BC.

Is there some new thing happening that will limit rank or benifit rank in BC?

While I am a bit disappointed, I am glad to see them taking the time to polish the game before releasing it... It does set them apart from SOE....

As for the PvP thing, the PvP system is changing and the old rankings are going away come BC...

Yeah Moge, the old PvP honor system will be gone. I guess they want to get honor rewards before they are a thing of the past.

I am not sure what the new system will be like. I read something a while back but the details escape me.

just wondering if it is worth me grinding out for the armor sets. The AV exhalted awards are also very nice.

bit more digging and found thispost with a blue comment

Basically all BGs will remain and all the rewards will scale to your lvl - just like WSG stuff does now. So if you want something from a BG rep reward get it now as it will probably be harder once BC comes out.

Still no idea on rank rewards or rank armor. AV rep is super easy to get. I am already almost Honored and only played maybe 10 sessions. Getting Exhalted should not be that hard.
