I must admit that, after some years away from Magic, I'm hooked up badly.

I saw it but never tried it as I feared it would be a huge money sink to me. Seems very very close in playing to Magic which would be fun imo.

I am quite tempted to get each of my 3 buddies and myself a starter set of this for xmas this year to have a new game we can play on our Thurs night get togethers.

Sluggy - do you have a link for a site that describes the game in general terms and what one might need to get started? I'll look myself but figured you may have a good site bookmarked already.

I actually saw an "Onyxia's raid" deck in a local electronics store near the WoW game boxes. Reminded me of the card game.

So..... I ended up picking up a couple Starter Deck boxes for my buds for xmas. I am actually going to open them and try to evenly allocated the class abilities/spells/etc between the 3 of us. We never trade cards so I figured to get games going ASAP it would be best to do this so we all don't have to go out and buy more boosters, when even then its only a chance that useful cards will be obtained.

Read the rulebook. Very similar to Magic TCG, yet different in that the attacking chooses which hero/ally he wants to attack (Magic = defender always chose defender).

It is very similar to MTG. Since your opening them anyway, if your friends do not play the online game you should make sure to pull out any cards that give you perks to your online characters.

There are some pretty cool in-game items available through the game. Since I have only bought a couple packs myself I haven't been lucky enough to get any, but I'm still looking.
