This is great! If anything will bring me back to SWG it will be the surprises and fixes the CU brings. Three things drove me away from SWG, 1) not being able to find others to adventure with, 2) having so many broken specials unfixed for so long, and 3) True attention to problems nowhere in sight. I have no doubt the devs can fix all my combat woes with the CU. I was largely impressed with the detailed improvements in JtL, and I see no reason why the same attention to detail will not find its way into the CU. Overall I think it took them way too long, and I feel like they lost there way… but once good press comes out of the CU beta, I may find myself looking into SWG once more. Good look to all who still play SWG. I think this will be the best things to ever happen to the game. Like the movie said, “nowhere to go but up”. This is truly a step in the right direction… a step up… a step forward! |

Also the CU beta would be something that would make me activate my account again.... but you have to have an active account to sign up.... so no dice for me. Good luck to the rest of you guys, hope you all get in. |

They are calling it the Combat Upgrade, and intend to make even more changes than they were talking about when they originally changed it from the Combat Balance to the Combat Revamp. They have also indicated that they are going to follow a similar process to upgrade All of the Professions. From TH's post announcing this it is clear that LucasArts has put significant pressure on SOE to improve the game, and that SOE may finally be hearing us. And to tell you the truth I credit Thunderheart with their new openness to listening to the community. Kurt has always been a believer that the community should be listened to, and I think that is what he is doing, making sure the Devs listen to the community. |
