Picked up my Kimo last night... its not as quick as the Dune Lizard I had... I will wait till I get all Level 5 parts in it before I decide if it is just to slow to use right now...

just started using my Xwing a while ago. Man is it sweet! With the right engine this baby will rock. Should be getting my Lvl 7 cert in a few. With that I will ownz!

Ok...midnight last night I got to 2222 Privateer.

I'm using the Kimogila, but not sure if I will continue to as it has a significant disadvantage against nimble TIE like craft - right now its very cumbersome. I've been able to adjust my combat style to accomodate it, but I still think the Dunelizard may be a better all around type of craft.

I overcame my biggest problem which was due to Reactor Gen Rate of only around 13ky. The current spawn of High Poly whatever the hell its called isn't that great so the lvl 5 reactor I had made is giving me about a 14270 rate which is okay but could get up to 15k with better stats on that resource. That's still pretty good, but the Kimo allows for 3 weapons and that's where I get into trouble. Drop a weapon and you can have your chaff. Add the weapon, and do w/o chaff.

Finally, I was able to get the right combo with some other looted components to get the energy use rate down, use the 3rd weapon, and install the chaff - I think I have 5 pts to spare

This is a very fun aspect of the game for me. I am enjoying this expansion although the missions seem very basic to me. Gauging some of Moge's comments in-game, Tier 3 missions may provide more spice to life.

I am at 2211 privateer, using the Kimo right now. I love the look of it...

If I knock off the speed some, I can manuever into firing position, but its low speed and cumbersomeness make me hope the medium and heavy Black Sun ships will handle better...

I'm 1111 CorSec, in my lovely black and yellow dunelizard. Just over a third of the way to the next skill.
Just looted myself a niccceeee little level two engine, which will also allow my to have all my weapons loaded up, so I'm gonna go blow things up a bit.

Anyone find a source of texture and paint kits? I am rather vein, and I want the pimp looking rides...

Obo, K'rynn? Might I hire you for a handful or two of these lovely little things?

I have to redeed my factories to do any factor runs. so none in bulk atm

Yeah, I could use for some more ship paint kits myself. I painted my dunelizard red / blue and would like to change it as well as paint my kimo.

2 other notes:

- I like how the xp requirements are not linear but exponential (15k, 60k, 200k,...not sure what tier 4 is atm)

- Once you get at least the Lvl 5 components skill box and maybe one more you ought to be able to hold your own in some random fights in Dath...i've gotten anywhere from 2500 - 4000xp / kill. Nice way to mix it up from the duty missions.

About to dump the Y-wing and go back to my nimble Z-95.....

I took screenies of all the texture kits and I will upload them today. Texture mixed with paint kits make for a great customization tool.

FYI: Tier Three missions are long and hard. The Tier 3 rebel mission is 5 legs long. You really have to go in with a game plan and be smart about your attacks. What I found was I just plan on doing each mission several times. Go in, scout it out and if you feel yourself looseing Hyper out.
Think about it and then come back at it.
The problem is if you blow your shield in round 1 your are screwed for rounds 2-5.

Get to know IFF! Know when to use it and when to save it. I think it recharges in like 5-10 minutes or so. This is a life saver.

Finally, leave no one alive! I found that if I left one guy alive he would come ater me later and that would just be one more dude I have to kill or be killed by.
