Upon my return home last week, i loaded up JTL... suddenly HOLY HELLA LAG EVERYWHERE!!!!! my SWG now constantly lags, jitters, stalls, and has stop and go movement every other minute no matter where i am in the galaxy..even the desolate places! the only thing that does not lag is the space part. (which by the way i decided that i dont really care for) i can only stand to play 20 min before i start pulling my hair out. WTF is going on with this game??? Is JTL causing this terrible experience? is there anything that i can do to rectify this problem. if not, can i uninstall JTL so i can go back to the old smooth playing days?

I find the UI is slowing things a bit for me. I think they are working on the ground lag caused by JTL.

I'm not sure if you can unregister the expansion. Doesn't seem to be any option for it. Besides the travel options are worth it alone :).

What don't you like about space?
If it's that it's too slow, that's probably just the starter ship you are given.

well obbo i really hope your right about them working on the ground lag. if so, then they better fix it fast. i find it ridiculous that it takes me 5 min to get from the entrance of mos eisley cantina to the backroom where the pilot trainer is located. i would just drop JTL in order to get my old smooth gaming back if it comes to that. if i cant do that, then i just may have to quit the game altogether cause its no fun to play with such horrible lag while paying good money each month for the service.

the space part didnt really impress me. i tried corsec privateer and got stuck early on some escort mission. i retried the mission over and over again 10 times with still no success(not a quick mission either). i think i needed a better ship and equipment so i spent a few hours and racked up thousands of pilot xp, only to find out that i couldnt get trained since the trainer wont talk to me until i finish that stuck mission. so i quit corsec and went to the hutts. well low and behold the exact same thing happens with their version of the same mission. bah! i just dumped swg piloting. i could re join the rebels and try their pilot program. but im sure the same experience will happen there as well :(

Erime, how long have you been away from the game?

You may want to take a look at your game options on the Launchpad before going in, and make sure they haven't changed.

You also may want to pull up the Options in-game and make some changes there. JTL reset a lot of my game options when I loaded it.

The biggest problem here is that there are now more people than ever in Mos Eisley around the spaceport and the cantina, as this is the main location for people starting out in the Privateer profession. You should find this not to be a problem in other cities, as the effect JTL has had on most cities is positive. There are only a handful it has had a negative effect on, and Theed has no visible effect, however I always had problems there.

ok, i did some options adjusting and managed to get the game to smooth out somewhat better. its still a bit jittery, but its bearable. ill keep tweaking some options. i was planning on getting some more memory for my comp in the near future. maybe the added memory may help as well. thnks for the tips guys :)

Adding more memory definitely helps. The more you can reduce disk access during gameplay the better. I have found that ANY disk access can slow the game down to a grinding halt in terms of FPS. I notice it when I do mailsave, and when my virus scanner starts scanning files once a week.

yea same here..though if u tell the virus scanner to scan at 3am you won't have that problem :)

just nuke all the options erime then see how it plays if its good slowly bring em up till you start having problems and adjust..

But 3 am isn't good for him, its an entirely different time there.
Besides, Kyp's always on. I remember whenever I would log in back when I still played, he was on. Ah, good times, good times.
