Some of these are really great. Race droids, lotto droids, juleboxes, NPC actors, capture the flag etc.

These are the tools that were always needed for player generated content.

I only wish that these changes could have started before the majority of Avian left the game.

Looks like they are desperately trying to cling to their remaining playerbase. I hope they keep going in this direction and allow us multiple characters per server. I'd be a happier camper then.

MPS would be a huge thing. I would love it if they adjusted their naming rights. As it is now if I delete Moge I have to wait XX days until that name is available again. In WoW and EQII once deleted the name is available immediatly.

I really think that if they keep up this work and the CR goes well that many people will return to the game. To me these are not so much fixes as a total shift in design theory for the game.

I was in BestBuy yesterday and it was all I could do to not buy a Game Card. Ill wait for most of these changes before I return to the game but it is almost a sure thing that I will be returning. Wether it replaces WoW or not is a whole other issue.

I wonder if these changes are enough to rebuild Avian in SWG?

For me not yet, for a couple of reasons. I want to see these actually implemented and not just talked about. I am not even close to being tired of WoW yet and I only play one at a time.

I am lurking still though.

Im with Rho, just a bit more active I think. Im sure I will be ingame once the BH rules get changed (PVP Patch).
I really do think that SOE has finally caught up with the user base on what we 'need' vs what we 'want'. Im not making any predictions yet but I think SWG is looking better and better.
Im sure I wll be ingame soon with at least Maili is not both Moge and Maili now that I have extra SP with Moge being a Master Pol.

I agree that these ideas actually have to be forfilled rather than just hinted on. But they are heading in the right direction and getting on with it at "full steam". It does appear to me, though, that these are more than just design notes and could come to fruitation fairly well.

I think, all in all, this game had trouble initially from listening too much to the community during developement expecially those who screamed the loudest (a few notable persons, most of whom then never actually played the game that they had ruined). I also think, though, that they have benefited from the game actually having been out for, what is it? a year now or is it nearly two?, and they understand they're customer base a lot better. Now, if only we could get a good crafting system!

Quote:
NPC Actor

The deed allows the player to spawn an NPC of a specified race. The player will be able to dress the NPC, name it and specify a "bark" similar to a vendor. The bark only fires if the NPC detects the presence of a player. The NPC is of course invulnerable and is primarily used for role-playing events. Be aware that any clothing you give the NPC will not be returned to you at any time.

Just what Cyrus always wanted

They mention a timer on removal wonder how long it is..THe Lotto droid can last up to 7 days at least so thats good wonder about the rest

Amazing stuff im sortta excited about all the changes...think they're desperate?
