Meet Kroi Ido, a blue twi lek and the only Avian on Intrepid server. How so? Well, he is one of Sel's sampler characters that he is offering to play.

I wanted a break from Erime's grindage, so I logged Kroi a few days ago to meet him. I find the poor guy lying dead in the middle of Theed plaza in reb combatant status with purple con stormies standing around him. He had no pants, no shoes, only 6k credits in his pocket and everything he owned was in his inventory. He had no backpack. He lost his armor to the CU. He was a level 8 rifleman with no rifle, only a couple of cheap scout pistols and two other pistols that he didnt qualify for. He was an artisan/arch/merchant with no supplies and nothing to sell. He was kicked out of his guild and lost his house that contained all his possessions and equipment. His harvestors were gone. His bank deposit box only contained a few portions of heavy leather. I barely managed to slip him into Theed starport without getting slain again, only to find out his only ship had NO engine! I felt I just had to get this poor twi back on his feet, so he has become a kinda side project for me.

I had 3 things going for him:
1. He was in a respec window. He had elite profs of merchant and architect skills with some boxes filled. Plus he had some marksman and artisan(one box from master).

2. He had his veteran award of the surosuub yacht that he needed to claim -this would make his traveling easier and save his 6k credits for other purposes than buying starport tickets.

3. He had a few helpful items in his inventory. Basic crafting tools, a few small blocks of minerals and fiberplast, a deeded corellian house, a landspeeder vehicle and a little bit of energy. Although not much help atm, all would come into play much later.

I claimed the yacht and flew him to Rori to meet the reb recruiter first. Kroi was in no condition to be a combatant. In fact, since his reb guild kicked him out, I made him neutral again. He would not get any support from anyone atm. I respec'd him to master artisan using his only pistols boxes. He held all four boxes of rifleman and ranged support so I left those as he would need them later. With no vendors to tend too, I used some of his merchant boxes to pick up Novice Rifleman so that he could put his armor pants and boots back on. With his pistol he could easily grind pistols xp.

My plan was for him to manufacture vehicles as master artisan for some income. Exploring Intrepids galaxy, I had noticed a need for vehicles in some areas on that server. His income from selling vehicles would then go into buying supplies and equipment to put his architect skills to work. The little resources needed to make a swoop bike could of course be easily obtained from surveying and planting a few inexpensive personal harvesters. But to get started he would need some money to invest in his business. How to get starting income? Well the best way in the galaxy...by hunting!

Kroi picked up novice scout and novice medic skills from the trainer for an inexpensive 200 credits, jumped into his yacht and off to Dantooine he went!

Kroi returned from the hunt with a backpack full of hides and 40k credits from mission payouts. He also managed to pick up Explore IV and pistols IV and is now a CL 15. Of course he could use explorer skills for tending harvestors and use pistols IV to better wield his scout blaster.

He split up his hides and put them up for sale at the bazaar. Not of any high quality, he charges a fair and decent price. He also put his 2 higher level CL 54 pistols up for sale since they were of no use to him being only a CL 15. He heard people in Mos Eisley barking they were LTB generic crafting tools. A quick check of the bazaar crafting tool section showed the shelves there were empty. He quickly made a few of those with the small blocks of minerals he had in his inventory and put those up for sale as well.

Kroi then used some of his 40k in the bank to buy four personal mineral harvestors and somemore energy. He had heard an uber steel had shifted on the server and so he crafts some survey tools and sets out into the field. After some searching, low and behold he finds an 80% spot of this uber steel along the coast north of cnet; no other harvestors around. He plants down 3 personal harvestors on the steel-suitably naming them 'Avian Industries'. By chance, he had also found an 80% spot of aluminum right next door and so one harvestor on this. Of course he needs more steel than aluminum for his swoop bike business, so this works out nicely. With tasks at hand complete. Kroi heads back to Cnet to sleep on the bench

I couldnt think of any other name at the time Azzie. But it stands out well on Intrepid!

Well here's the latest update on Kroi. He was unpleasantly rousted by the corsec security force who were not very happy about him camping out on one of Coronet's plaza benches overnight. However, upon a trip to the bazaar, he is pleasantly informed that ALL his hides have been sold and his crafting tools have been completely sold out! One of his weapons was also sold. Kroi's Avian industries had turned a profit of over 115k credits overnight! His harvestors also yeilded almost 5k of minerals each. After spending some money on training, paying harv maintenance, fixing his landspeeder and buying some new clothes, he still has over 90k in the bank. Kroi is about ready to start manufacturing his vehicles! If he is successful enough, he may eventually open a vehicle dealership once he is able to pay the rent on a house and vendor.

Very cool Erime.

Its nice to experience that "brand newness" every now and then. Avian's play on TC for that little bit was fun.

I think we should make a talk with the BoD about this if we should make another Avian PA on an other server.

But it could be great to see how it would work with a fresh company.

If we could find a brand new server then yes this might be a good idea. I would prefer starting in a place totally new and be able to create a town anywhere.

That being said, the other other problem with starting another server is that it could cut the already small plyaer base in half and that's not good.

Yup, thats the sort of fun im having at the moment with Kroi. Experience being new and needy in the game again and see if I can turn him around. I posted the story cause I thought some may like to read it.

Im not planning on starting another Avian PA on Intrepid. That would be an overwhelming and time consuming task for me. I would rather put the energy into Erime and Avian on Chilly as they are the ones that need most attention atm

Nice story, it's good to see aspects of the new game freshness in there!

Well starting from scratch is sometimes good. Though thinking about how avian is doing on Chilly now that we're getting up again I don't think that there might be so many on the intrepid.

But if it was allowed that we made a sub avian PA on another server we could try to suggest that on intrepid the Members wouldn't need to registre on the forums untill we know how it is going on that server.

And that taking care of that PA could be completely voluntary, since our primary PA is on Chilly
