This next test will be pretty fun. It's an event oriented test where we can expect several hundreds (1000+ probably) NPC's to fight and fight along side testers defending Anchorhead. The goal is to get more than the 500+ players from the last test. Hope to see you there!

Servers will be up around 5:00-5:30 EST today and the event/testing should begin about 5:45PM EST.

And here's how to connect to the test center if you're interested:

How did it go? I had family over all day yesterday, so I couldn't be there.

I was with family too. But from what I've caught up on it had to be scrapped. They're running the new server with freebsd I think and ran into a few problems once a couple hundred people were in Anchorhead. They identified the issues atleast and are working on them now. There's a mini-test tonight around 5:30pm EST I may swing into if I get home in time. But the big event-oriented test is now rescheduled for next weekend.

You'll start seeing A LOT more progress now that there's a legitimate contender to the SWG emulator throne. Another project called SWGANH (a new hope) was formed out of the mods and devs chased away from the SWGemu drama. So the race is on.

God I hope so on the progress but this has been going on for so long, I quite frankly am becoming one of the skeptics.

And how long will it take? Thats the real problem IMHO.

By the time an emulator is out how many people will be interested? Its been 18 months since the NGE +/-, those folks who left will be going onto and getting involved in other things.

I realize its a volunteer effort, and I should be patient BUT Im really beginning to wonder about the viability of a community once this does get done.

And for me thats what made SWG so freaking cool, the community.

Not trying to whine or anything, just sharing some general concerns......
