Arggg.. another highly addictive game. This one is much more interesting than Political Assylum I think. I'm currently ranked #209 and doing fairly well.

http://standard.1000ad.net

I've got a good handle on the game now, so I can adequately answer any questions you might have.

The basic concept is turn-based empire building. You start out under protection - you can't attack or be attacked. So all your efforts should go toward building your economy and settling more land.

The scoring is directly related to how much land you hold. Different buildings must be built on specific land types, of which there are three: mountains, forests, and plains.

The whole game revolves around balancing your resource intake vs. usage, as well as managing your level of unemployment.

What's your player number Mole? I'll send you some resources to get you started.

Ugh Talon,

I'll have to quit PA to try this, as I'm distracted enough already.

I think I'm done with PA. It's weird. I might still log in once a day or so though, just to keep my party going.

I'm ranked 184 now, and I started the "Avian Nation" alliance. If you want to join up, the password is "avian."

EDIT:

Bah.. just learned that I can't send resouces to you guys until you're out from under protection.

When you have plenty of resources like that, and a bunch of people out of work, I've found that building a ton of toolmakers is best. Either that, or mage-towers.

That will knock your iron or your gold production out of wack, respectively, so you can build more mines.

Above rankings are updated.

send horses with the scouts.

also, you can build more town centers to get more explorers.

the number of explorers you send is also dependant on how much food you have to send with them.

Well quit observing silently and join in on the action... it's quite fun once you get the hang of it.

I haven't gotten into battle yet or anything but just building up my empire is fun in itself. It's like Travian but more complicated. That's a good thing and a bad thing. I got bored with travian after a month or so... I'm not sure how much staying power 1000 a.d. will have... only 2 days old here so I don't know what it's like in later stages, but so far it's more fun than Travian because there is more to do.

The great Barbarian tribes have joined forces to create the Nation of Tetranovia. We're currently figuring out how to fully abuse all the natural resources surrounding us.

excellent! join the Avian Nation (from the alliance page).

Anybody needing any resources? I can spare just about anything.

Over the weekend I got attacked about 10 times and it wiped out my army. I'm rebuilding, and it shouldn't take long to recover what I lost. At any rate, I've declared war on two alliances out of the three that attacked. These two are not that strong, and we can easily hurt them bad if we retalliate. Check the alliance screen for information on these two.

The third alliance that attacked is much more powerful than us, and I'm hoping they'll just leave us alone.

Hey guys, I deleted my empire this morning. I just don't have the time anymore for all the turns and upkeep for these types of games, as fun as they are. I don't want ot become a farm :?

Game #66 is over, and a new game is starting. Now's a good time for anybody to get in that wants to get in.

We should do fairly well, now that we all know how to play. :)

I wasn't as thrilled with the game either. I think I'll be staying away. Finish off my last PA game and be done with it for a while. I hope.
