This game is one that I have recently started playing, and I have enjoyed it thoroughly. It's free to play, and it somewhat resembles Starcraft or Warcraft. The major difference is that instead of controlling a massive army you control only the Hero. It can be played in a couple of different game modes: a PvE mode where you and four other people team up and combat the AI. There are two difficulties to the AI: Beginner and Intermediate. The second mode is similar, but instead of facing off against AI you are against five other players, making it a PvP mode. The Heroes (or Champions as they are called in LoL) range from melee tanks to ranged DPS to glass-cannon magic users, and everything in between. A downside is the length of the matches; you can guarantee that they will last for at least half an hour, and I've never had one last longer than 40 minutes. The game wouldn't be good for large groups of people playing at a time, but with small groups this game would be extremely fun. My sister and I have played a few matches together and even with just two of us the game was dramatically more interesting and fun than playing by yourself. No problem. One thing I did forget to mention that unless you buy a champion, there is no guarantee that you will get it from one week to the next. There are about 10 champions that are available each week, called "Free Champions", that change weekly. You can buy champions through earning special points from battles. Otherwise you have to just play with what you get each week. |
