Wow what a day... starting with my car's battery dying at my mom's house. I then get a ride from my dad to his place, and ask him to stop at bestbuy so I could pick up Eq2(if only it were that easy). So we get to bestbuy and I look around, no Eq2, "no problem, it must not be shelved yet." So I talk to one of the employees that's around there and he says no we don't have Eq2. Not very assuring since it just came off the top of his head. So I ask another employee to check the back if there's Eq2 and they leave for about 30 seconds and come back "no it's not there." So I go back home and call bestbuy just to be sure. "Do you have everquest 2?" I say. "No the collectors edition comes out the 15th." What about the normal version? "No the strategy guide comes out in 2 weeks." ......What about the NORMAL version?? "Ohhhh thats not in our computer."

Next store. I call gamestop, "Do you have Everquest 2 in stock?" We sure do it came in today. "Alright I'll be right down." Then I ask my dad to take me to gamestop but he's going furniture shopping so if I want to go there I have to go furniture shopping. 3 hours and a couch later, I'm at gamestop. "Hey I'm here for Eq2" Oh did you preorder? "No..." Well we only have enough copies for the people that preordered. At this point I'm pretty pissed so I leave and we're not done furniture shopping so 2 hours after gamestop we arrive home.

I wasn't going to let this day end without Eq2 in my hands and on my harddrive. So I called EB. "Yes we have it" You have a lot of copies? "Yep plenty come on down." So I bribe my dad with gas money to take me to EB(the nearest ones about a half hour drive.) So at long last, I have Eq2, my adventure lasted from 10am(visit to bestbuy) to 10pm(fully installed).

I did learn a lesson from all this: Life sucks without a car, and Las Vegas bestbuy employees are idiots.

Well this being having to do with Eq2 and all I got a level 10 ogre warrior now on Antonia Bayle, but restarting as a Barbarian as I just read about the betrayal quest and it looks like it will take about a billion hours.

Hope to see you in game tonight...

Latruce (dbakke) and I grouped up last night, Zodius was there for a bit...

I need to figure out how to quit stealing all the agro from Latruce... he was chasing bugs all over the place trying to get a hit in on them as they swarmed after me and my UBER lightening, hehe...

Got my copy delivered yesterday and installed and get the message that my video card is not supported. Not pleased at all precious, not pleased at all with that. Had the computer for a couple years now but I made damn sure when I bought the thing that I had pretty high end components. Grrrr. Pisses me off!

Anyway, picking up a new, and hopefully supported card on the way home.

I'm not gonna have any trouble installing one of those, am I? It seems to be as easy as it gets right?

Think it depends on what you get but overall fairly easy... plug them into the right slot, connect correct cables (if needed), install software, go to company's site and look for new drivers, download/install those, restart. You should be all set.

Cables? Do you mean to the computer itself or to the new video card?

I appreciate the help btw.

there shouldn't be any cables inside the box, basically just the monitor cable to plug in the back

Most new video cards just plug in the slot and thats that

I meant like adaptors, some of the old monitors need those but they should ome with the card.

Some of the newer video cards require a power cable, they use the same power cables as the disk drives so look for one of those inside your box if you need one. If you forget to connect it you'll only get a message on your monitor saying just that so no harm done, but it's always good getting it right the first time :)

You didn't have that tint with your old card? Is your monitor old?

First of all, check that your monitor cable is mounted tight, if it is, remove it and check it for bent pins. If the cable's ok and your monitor's ok there might be a problem with your drivers (not likely) so download the newest ones.

Another option is downloading a utility called powerstrip which has some very good color correction tools among other things. If that doesn't solve your problem, I'm guessing that your video card is screwed.

Edit: Link to Powerstrip
