or: Not So Frequently Asked Questions But Things You Wanted To Know Anyway!!


I'm proposing to run a list of FAQs here for our general information. There will be a number of questions in here that don't have answers and which I (or someone else) would like the answers to. If you find answers to these unanswered questions, please post them here. If you have any questions of your own, with or without answers please post them here. I will endevour to continue to update this post with the latest information.

FAQs:

General
  • What does POS mean? Player Owned Structure.
  • What are the yellow-highlighted player ships? Players with a security rating less than 0.
  • How do scanners work? .
  • What is a remote buy order? .

Mining
  • Are secure cargo containers permanent or do they also disappear after a time in space? Permanent.
  • What are Haulers? Industrial class ships. These have a large cargo capacity and so are used commonly for hauling cargo.

Skills
  • What is the difference between skill rank and skill level? Skill Rank is a multiplier to the time it takes to learn a skill, it has no other bearing in game. If it's rank 3, it'll take 3 times longer to learn that a Rank 1.

Chronicles
  • Who are the Syndicate? .

X2, Check out the "Yak's (mini) guide", as it has a few answers already.

Skill Rank is a multiplier to the time it takes to learn a skill, it has no other bearing in game. If it's rank 3, it'll take 3 times longer to learn that a Rank 1.

Skill levels are points used to roll for successes in game.
