I really haven't been doing any missions. I typically just mine or hunt Priates or MacroMiners (my new hobby). Tonight I started taking some missions just to check them out.

using Moniker and her Kestral, which is the fastest ship I own, I set out from Luminaire and just let the missions lead me around. It seems that after you travel to a destination and you convo your mission giving agent he will suggest an agent to you that is in the area you are now in.

I know to get to lvl 2 (higher pay missions) you should just focus on one Corporation but I thought it fun just to see where the missions lead me. 3 jumps here 5 jumps there 8 missions later I find myself doing a delivery right back to Luminaire in the exact station I started from. Kinda fun.

Once I get the hang of things I'll start doing R&D missions for BPOs but I'll need to get my standing up. I also noticed that as a Corporation we pool our standings. So if everyone does missions for a select few Corporations we can all benifit from faster standing gains.

Here is a great link to mission info.

I think I may start working for CreoDron as they have R&D for both Caldari and Gallante ships.

CreoDron
Size: Large
Implant: Willpower
Highest R&D: lvl. 5
Main Research: Electronic Engineering, Caldari Starship Engineering & Gallentian Starship Engineering

Nice,
I'm up for starting on a bunch of missions as well tomorrow (once the fam leaves). Want to pick one or two companies, and we'll concentrate out of there?

I got up to about 250 standing with my primary agent... and would like to try to push that one to Level 2 at least. I kept taking a mission, then coming back to the same spot. Wastes time, now that I think about it.

well I got wondering about Trade and Trade Goods so I started looking around. If you are willing to travel you can make quite a profit if you use the market right.

I was planning on selling Slaves and Freed Slaves but then crunched a few numbers and found I carry more, sell more and be safer if you just played the market on legal goods.

As we speak I am traveling 6 jumps in my Tub (read a book and yawn a lot) to pick up 9000 head of Livestock. Cows. FireFly irony anyone? Want to be a smuggler/criminal and I end up with a cargo hold of cattle.

Well buying at 600isk and selling at 1050isk I'm willing to swollow my pride for the haul.

Once I get the hang of this I could see huge profits on goods if you spot a low selling price on something. For now I'll stick to legal goods and move into other things once I get the hang of the market.

Mining, missions and trade. Could make for a profitable way to spend your time. Just keep the market window open as you travel and check a few things here and there all the while watching the Ore markets.

---

Trade Goods:
Tip of the day. Check the Quantity before you make 8 jumps to pick up something

I found a large shipment anyway and made a decent profit so no loss really. Also, all that time travelling in a slow boat gives you time to browse the market. I found some goods there where 3 jumps away that sold in Charmerout system and where bought in the same system just a different base. 13,000 units at a 20isk profit per unit just for hoping to the next base. Not a bad side trip.

All in all. I would say don't travel more that 9 jumps total; pickup and delivery, for less than 1million ISK. You can make that mining in about the same or less time.

This was a good dry run. I made about 4million ISK in about 2 hours but more than that it gave me another something to look for in this very complex game.

So if you ever see livestock for around 700-800isk buy them. They easily sell other places for 1000isk. At 1m3 per unit I can move 9,000+ units at once.

Finally, to maximize your profits you may want to get some Trader skills that lower the taxes you pay. I pay about 75k in taxes for every full shipment I sell. So with a profit line of 450k per trip 75k can add up quick.

i've been doing missions from day one with a half dozen agents. The most interesting one to date is where I've been given an "offer" and I need to destroy an amarr navy squad leader.

Quote:
Bounty Certificates

Offer Description

Due to increasing political tension between the Republic and the Amarr Empire, the Minmatar Fleet has started paying bounties for the
destruction of Amarr vessels. This is done off the record of course, but has prompted hundreds of bounty hunters to backstab those pesky
Amarr pigs whenever they stray too far from their home worlds.

It so happens that most of their pilots, as ours, carry a distinct insignia which portrays their rank and status within their military. These
insignias cannot be copied, at least to the best of our knowledge, and therefore we use them as a clear way of identifying Amarrian ship
kills. A few moments ago, a colleague of mine within the Fleet requested a batch of these insignias. The only type that I lack at the moment
to fulfill his request is the Amarr Navy Squad Leader Insignia.

If you have one unit of Amarr Navy Squad Leader Insignia, then I will give you 50000 ISK for them.

This offer expires at 2005.12.30 16:27:42

I've tried searching the boards for information on this mission with no luck. I guess I just have to go to an Amarr system and look for a squad leader ship.

Any thoughts would be helpful.

Secondly, I've got my Rupture maxed with 5 cargo expanders so I can haul 700 m3...this has allowed me to do missions with up to 1 million in payout (the jumps haven't been great 15+), but for not having a hauler its not bad. I'm wondering if I do need to get a hauler though in order to maximize my economies of scale.

I've been working on getting skills so that I can start on R&D agents. My plan is to work with the Ishukone Corparation. I'm mainly looking into Caldari Starship Engineering but possibly also Rocket Science if I get the skills to get another R&D agent.

tonight after I loaded out my new ship I took it for a ride in .7 space rat hunting. After a few kills I realized these where far to easy and I ventured to .6 space. These where still very easy but I enjoyed the 12k bounty and very nice loot drops.

In less than maybe 30minutes I had made 72,000isk from bounties. The only real bummer is that two of them dropped 50k tritanium each. With no way to transport it and being far to lazy to go get my hauler I left it. I could see how a tractor beam would seriously help your looting. yeah you can leave the 100k of tritanium but sometimes just killing and looting can take a while especially if the kills are spread out all over. More and more it looks like Moniker will be getting the 'beam'.

I could see a very fun evening of Rat killing ina group with a hauler in tow collcting all the loot. Once I get some targeting skills I will head down to .5 space and see what they have to offer. Anything lower and I'll have to start dealing with players on the hunt as well.

But for now, me and my Moa rule!
