With all the options, do you just wantt o go for whatever gets you to better frigate skills or where you want to end up?

I assume all skills are open and you really wantthe ones that get you better initial skills? Hence, I ultimately want science, but I shouldn't choose the options that gain me those skills, just the attributes?

attributes:

best Ive found is to go for even accross the board. Leave Charisma at its base and then even all 5 custom points out over the others. Your initial selection allows you to get +4 to certain skills. I try and get those into Memory or Intelligence as those are the two you use the most.

After that, just get frigate IV.

BTW Customer service sent out a notice, heavy loads in newbie lands so you may be laggy when you get in.

Just get frigates now to level 4. Don't worry about your tarket skills yet. Get antributes now that will eventually help your goal skills.

It doesn't always appear to tell you what skills you get? just general categories I think?

But, I have to reroll

I think when you pick which schools and programs, it says things like Frigates III on the bottom...

mouse over the tiny little icons. It will tell you what each selection does.

I rerolled a few times when I first started dont sweat it. Though it takes 24 hours ot get your name back. reroll a test-name get whatyou want then reroll a final. You have 3 toon slots. takes 24hours to delete a toon so dont use then all :)

You only get 1 Frifate skill at a time, but it really all starts from your basic school.

I went with the military option first (got Frigate 4)...ready to redo tutorial :D

So... I'll have Astrogation 4 in a day. After that... I'm not sure what the guild needs most.

Should I go:
- Mining Barges
- One branch of refining
- Crafting

well if you go Refining you have to get specialized in lvl III otherwise it is more profitable to just sell the ore.

So refining is an all or nothing kinda thing. I would say if we can get 2 refiners in Avian we should be set; Moge will be one and starting in the skills tomorrow evening.

Since you already have some battleship and command skills maybe so Battlecruiser/drones. With that you can protect us from Rats when we mine in <.8 space, which will be more and more now. Barges are totally defensless unless we give up some yield for drones. Battlecruisers get nice yields and yat always have a few turrents, bays or missles left for protection.

We also need someone to start up the crafting ranks.

Yeah for refining to be worth it you need.....

Refining 5
Refining Effeciency 3
Specialized refining 2 (per ore so you need it specificly for Veld, Scord, Plagi and Omber plus the low sec resources when you start getting that)

With these 6 skills at a 50% refinery you eliminate all waste. And depending on your standing at the station you are refining at, they will take 4% of the yield or less. (Of course the better your standing the less they take)
