If you haven't seen them yet, here's a page of newer Roma Victor screenshots. I haven't been playing the beta, so I can't say how things are coming along with the mechanics, but judging from the pictures, the UI finally got updated.

If this group forms up a Roma Guild and starts playing Ill probably put in an application to join. I checked out there website and some fan sites and it sounds pretty good.

I've been trying to play beta, but my PC won't have it. Time to spend some hard-earned cash and get it upgraded methinks.

Don't know if things have changed X, but back a few months ago, even the heftiest machines were having a hard time with framerates for this game. I hope by now that they've fixed it, but you may want to check the forums.

The screenies don't look like they should be giving THAT much trouble. Certainly not up to the standard of some of the other MMORPGs out these days.

This would Indicate that it's possibly the coding, and not the Machines.

My biggest problem is the budget graphics card I have in my machine at the moment. Trouble is that there is no point in buying a new one that is old enough to work in my machine!

It seems all new "good" video cards worth buying are PCI-E. I'm finding myself wanting to upgrade too, but I have 4 PC's and none of them have PCI-E slots :(

Yeah, I'm tempted to hold off on the upgrade for a bit and then go for a "next generation" machine.

yep, i'm pretty sure i read that the video card makers stopped making AGP cards with the 7800 and the xt800 series...essentially requiring folks to upgrade their comps.

The screenies don't look very impressive to me, actually.

The graphics are still turned down, but they are actually very detailed. It's just they seem to be very 2D right now. If you look at the detail in the agregates in the paving stones in the roads, the stone work on statues, etc, it's very impressive. Almost photo quality. But they just don't "pop" right now, making you feel immersed. I'm still holding out hope because the premise of creating a complicated RP-centric game makes me as giddy as a school girl.
