Noticed this and thought it was interesting

the first day of EVE Online’s open beta in China resulted in a new world record for the number of simultaneous users playing in the same game world. More than 30,000 users logged into the game server just hours after opening. The company also announced that over 200,000 players from China registered for the game during the first day of the of the open.

Farming in Beta?
I thought that was Korea. I'm not sure you could get away with such in China.

Still the record should not be entirely unexpected considering that China holds one fifth of the world's population.

Yeah this was the opening of EVE-China. Big news.

Huge new market for CCP. Means a lot of new revenuw for them which means more to spend on development of the game.

So big things to come. :)

Love it!

do the Chinese play games to have fun

or do they play games to farm and earn a living? A whole country of people to farm goods and noone to buy.

 obo, you should know better.

Not everyone who farms is Chinese.
And I'm sure a great many people actually play the games for fun. Also, you need to get into WOW and head to the SE point in Eastern Plaguelands. Or, any place that has a fairly significant loot/item drop rate.

Well, any farming that goes on in the China server will not have an effect on Tranquility-- they're two separate servers. Unfortunately, that doesn't mean there aren't/haven't already been many, many macrominers in Tranquility for a long time =/

What? No way.... I actually thought that was one of the best parts of the game...

what's funny are the roving band of macrominer hunters...they send you invites to private chats and if you don't respond they blow your ass up.

Too funny.

I remember seeing the signs around some of the 1.0 space saying "Macrominers killed so far: 324"
