Post subject: | Skills Question |
So I am a Minmatar in a BC - the Cyclone. I've got about 6 different shield skills (shield management, shield operation, shield upgrades, tactical shield manipulation) with all at level 2 and shield op at 3. In my mid slots I have a medium shield booster, an invulnerability field 1, and a v-m15 braced multispectral shield matrix. In my low slots, I have an armor repairer, pdu (power diagnostic sys 1), gyrostabilizer, and emergency damage control. Why am I painstakingly listing this out, you ask?!?! I just started doing level 3 missions and my shield is getting chewed through too quickly and short of treadmilling through level 2 missions for the next 2 months to earn the cash to buy a BS I was wondering if anyone had any config advice or areas I should focus skills development. Here's where my train of thought is at the moment: 1) The current mission is against the Sansha and maybe i need to switch out the v-m15 multispectral shield matrix for one that focuses on whatever damage the sansha specifically deliver? 2) switch out the gyrostrabilizer for an armor hardener, so even if my shield gets chewed up I can last much longer at the armor layer? 3) kill the enemy much faster (currently learning scout drone operation 5) and will learn drones 5 after that to get type 2 drones), but this will take about 13 days total. Thanks in advance for any advice. |

Here's a few options: 1) Find which skill you need to be able to obtain the next level of basic shield, train that and then buy the next level of shield. 2) Train skills that increase the stength of your shield. 3) Purchase shield upgrades to increase the strength of your shield. 4) DON'T go the armor strengthening route, if your armor is getting hit, your shield isn't good enough. Thats all I can think of at the moment. |

ahhh, thanks kyp. A shield hardener instead of an armor hardener...makes sense. A level 2 shield booster...versus a level 1...ok. not sure what a shield booster amp is..will have to check that out. multiple power diagnostic units...hmm thought you could only have one...guess i'll have to look into that as well Not sure what a BCM is...unless he meant DCM(damage control module). Anyone know what this acronym is? |

sorry, not that rich yet, but you do know that you can send in a loan application to: eibsupport@ntlworld.com or via xendraii? Interest is 8% per month. As soon as the loan application is approved, Xendraii or Crazy Bugger will be able to pay it out to you. Even three week old characters have gotten the 50 million loan, since this one of the loans EIB uses to gauge the client credit score. Quote: The EIB Loan Application
Name : Security Status : Age in Months : Profession : Loan Amount Required : What is the loan for? : How much do you earn per month on average? : How much do you expect you can afford per month? : please include any other information you may feel is relevant to your application. We will contact you soon with loan quotes Cally CEO, Eve Intergalactic Bank |

Just a note to my last post. Xendraii is now authorized to grant loans up to 75M herself, so an evemail to Xendraii should do. |

Good to know, thanks Kyp. I didn't give that any thought because I didn't think I could get that much so soon after joining and well here in the states 0% financing is all the rage with car dealerships and well...I do need a new ride (too bad GM doesn't build Tempests). |

Anyone with a current account will get a loan of up to 50 million. If you succeed in paying it back in a timely manner and under the conditions that apply, your credit rank with the bank will increase, and you will be entitled to higher amounts of loan. |

BTW, Minmatar ships can both armor tank and shield tank. They just aren't quite as good at doing either as the Gallente armor tank or the Caldari shield tank. |
