4x missiles?
Sounds like a Caracle, not a Kestrel.
Caracle is more fun anyway. Sheer firepower with just enough defenses and speed to get you out of trouble faster than you got into it.

I wanted to build a cheap Rat ship that had some speed to it so I bought a Kestrel. It is awesome up to .5 space and even lvl 2 missions. I use: 4x Rockets 1MWD, Sm Shield extender (will upgrade to Med when I have the skill) 1 CPU, 1 targeting thingie (increases my rate of fire). Basically is it small so it is hard to track and even though it is the slowest frig it is still pretty fast. I close the distance with a 1MN MWD and then let loose with my rockets at 4000m. Since Im so close turrets cannot hit me and missle dmg is less becuase I move so fast. I did get ganked hard in .3 space though so I will need to build a Cruiser for that. Moniker is gearing up as a 'big ship pilot'. Ships like Freighters, Carriers and dreads. So some of my base combat skills are still kinda low. I think if I had 750k more skill points in basic combat skills I could take on .3 rats in my Frig. All in all its a fun time. |

nope 4x rockets
I'm digging rockets over missles right now just becuase of a Rate of Fire - which is insane. I take our 3 or more rats in .5 space before they even land a shot on my tiny fragile frigate. |
