Well I decided to to finally download and install a post-release RV. Didn't actually play the game itself much as it was 2am by the time I'd downloaded everything.

The game doesn't seem to have changed much. They're still working on it though and the general UI has received a bit of polish. Although it has been released, they make no claims of it being finished. A lot of things are publicly declared as not been implemented yet.

The great thing I think about RV is that it is like any stand alone game. You pay for it once and there is no requirement for you to pay anymore. With that system, there is no real mechanic forcing you to play on a regular basis (although your skills to deterirate over time). And, all the time they're working on it, the game can only get better.

im thinking about downloading this, is it worth it?

(does the forum graveyard mean this is the place to discuss the "dead" games or is it where the dead treads go?)

To expand on dbakke's post. It's not worth it at the moment. When they've "finished" it, which will likely be a few years from now, it will probably be worth it.

And Yeah it basically means this is where thread on all the non-active games go.

been thinking on that, decided id buy it now, cause if it only gets better, people will want it, if lots of people want it, price goes up :)

and its got no monthly fee so i can always come back...

and im just really bored lately....

I doubt the price will go up except in line with inflation, so it'll take a few years!

Has anyone checked out RV again recently? I had a quick flick over the website just now and it appears ballistics is now in so you can do things like archery and spear throwing.
