And Famke, I don't think too many would do that. Unless of course you were RP in character.

Do we want to get a Society thread started on the POBS forums?

Is it too early to get a PotBS forum setup here at Avian?

No harm in setting up a forum for it. If it turns out the game sucks threads can get moved to the graveyard.

Ha - was just thinking about the idea of a new forum.

A new post about the release timetable.
Rusty wrote:
As I noted before, I don't think it's ready, and would not have launched it in June. The pieces that we need to consider whether it's ready show up at the end of this month, and then we need to see what the beta testers think of it.

I guess I signed up for beta over a year ago, at least that's what the website told me. Until you guys brought this up I had completely forgotten about this game.

Mods - let's get the separate private forum set up so we can start plotting our rule of the carribean!

Or at least be able to create seprate threads discussing faction pros/cons, flag designs, strategies, etc. without cluttering the boards.

Well I am concerned about "leveling" but if I do get into beta and am able to check this out, and I think this is for me, I may throw my hat in the ring with you folks.

On the flag, I think once we chose a nationality, that should be considered in flag colors. If we got Brit (and its 3 to 1 right now) I would think we would want some colors from the Union Jack.

Im not entirely sure how the leveling system works yet. But my understanding is that this game takes effort to reduce/remove grinding.

After playing EVE Online for the last nine months any talk of "leveling", makes me squirm. I am now a firm believer in skills based systems (if I wasn't after SWG pre CU).

So Im not saying this is a bad game, its really got my interest, Im just saying it may not be what Im looking for.

And just think how this game could be entirely skills based...................

Tired of being a Officer? Train up Privateer for a while, etc et al. I agree this has promise but Im not quite "sold" just yet :)

Rocky, did you ever submit your flag into the UC system on the PotBS site?

I totally agree with you on the Eve style levels. There is no balance really needed (other than ships) because if you like one skill, get it.

The thing to know about this game is that it does have an 'open skill' system. You get lvl 50 (from what I ready, all quests little grind). For every even lvl you get to pick a ship skill. For every odd level a fighting skill. I kinda like it.

It is a mashup of the Eve skills and WoW Talents. More of the WoW Talents really.

No, as it seemed everyone preferred other flags.

Well I think we should come up with at least one Avian Flag for submission so that we can use it in game.

Also, all of the flags that I did are British based flags (using a variation of St. George's Cross), we haven't decided on a nation and it looks like we don't want to decide on a nation until we get into the game.

I tend to agree. We have time to make a get a flag ingame. We should choose a country then work a flag based on that.

May take Beta or even open beta for us to get a country much less flag.

I wish we could decide country sooner rather than later. I am fine with the top two choices.

Unlike the choice between Naboo/Rori, it is safe to say that neither country will start out at a disadvantaged location.

Ok, somebody here missed the reference... let me explain.

Tetran mentioned the African Swallow which is from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I came back with "ALBATROSS! GET YOUR ALBATROSS HERE!" Which is a reference to a Monty Python skit form the 70's.

Now you know... and knowing is half the battle.

G.I.JOE!!!
